Wehad very littlke space so it was perfect to have all the knives, spoons and forkes in it. Ours was made from Pine but I think they quite often used oak when making tables in France.

Have a great day!

Christer.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6991743430794325756.post-65126449591032318602017-02-20T08:45:51.347-08:002017-02-20T08:45:51.347-08:00Your new table is wonderful. Our London flat doesn't have much counter space so now I'm looking at getting a custom-made oak butcher's block w drawers. Cheaper to get made in the English countryside and have delivered to the city! Enjoy yours! :)Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11920366609527181388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6991743430794325756.post-1476891351371268692017-02-20T04:30:27.992-08:002017-02-20T04:30:27.992-08:00I knew someone who had a big old table similar to ...I knew someone who had a big old table similar to that with drawers in it -- used it as her dining room table. I am surprised they didn't put a "dummy" pull on the front where the end drawer is, though I think the drawer is a fun surprise. I know you're going to make great use of your find.
