Sterling Salem Witch and sailboat pin
Black cat door stop
Two very rare Westmoreland Glass witch balls. These have holes in the top to capture negative forces when they enter your house.
Sugar Snap
Day Lily bud
Getting ready to open
Salem Witch Day Lily almost open
Yesterday's harvest has already been eaten. I made a big decision yesterday. I realized my raised beds were not getting enough light. Though I was eagerly anticipating my Giant Parrot Radishes and Watermelon Radishes along with the leeks and carrot, I decided they had to go. I planted them in my high raised boxes which get plenty of light. I decided I had to make a "Sophie's Choice" with the veggies. So out with all the above and I transplanted a lot of my eggplants, peppers and tomatoes where I know they will get plenty of sun. It's an experiment so we shall see! Then I cut down a Maple that was shading the lower beds. I over planted trees and now I am paying for it. I am slowly figuring out that when you garden much like when you cook you better be ready and able to change the game plan when unexpected things happen. A metaphor for life?
