Snow!

A pooped pup with legwarmers on the trip.

A view out the back door. Skaneateles has snow!

On the way home.

My kind of weather.

Click to enlarge....we saw a lot of people doing this.

Click for a better look.....we saw a lot of these signs in Amish country.

We drove to the cutest little town. Ellicottville, New York. Straight ahead you can see the ski slopes.

Everything here revolves around skiing.

Teddy refused to get out of the car. I think she was too warm and snuggly on her car bed wearing her legwarmers. The ground was slushy and though Teddy loves to swim, she HATES getting her feet wet. Go figure.

The town was full of cute stores. This antique store is called The Purple Doorknob.

Let It Snow and have a beer.

The stores are still decorated.

A llok down Main Street.

Snowboarder's paradise.

I used to live close by here. This area was settled by Swedes and Norwegians. Everybody skis. When I was in college, lots of students skied to school.

Even the dogs wear ski jackets.

You can't see it in this picture but there are skiers skiing down that hill in the background.

For a small town there are lots of restaurants.

Little Scandinavian toy warriors.

How quaint.

There are lots of historical buildings too.

Then were drove right into the snow belt.

These small towns have more snow removal equipment than large cities. This is Mayville, New York.

Many people don't know how to drive in the snow. And some idiots drive in blizzard conditions while taking photographs!

Wow! That's amazingly charming and peaceful. I so would love to just hang out there for a few...years (smile). Teddy looks comfy and cozy--I so look forward to pic's of that pooch!
I hate snowmobilers. Especially at night, when all you can see is their headlights zooming around in the ditches beside the highway. I'm always nervous that they'll dart across the highway (even though it's illegal), just like unpredictable deer. Stay home, snowmobilers!

Oooh, drive carefully!
It is really beautiful up in that part of the state. We spent a fair bit of time up there when we were mobile in the fifthwheel.
What a beautiful little town and settled by sweeds and norwegians :-)

We have very few scooters here, the snow is to unsure nowdyas, but we do have ski slopes and signs with horses (without wagons though). This county has more horses than any other in the country.

Strangly enough my dogs doesn´t care about getting their paws wet, but take a bath!!!! :-) :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Looks like another fun trip! I went skiiing myself for the first time New Years Day--not a sport for the faint-hearted! I hope Teddy feels better soon and have a great new year.

What gorgeous little towns! I love how each one has it's own personality and individual shops! It is always so much fun to see your journeys!!

And if Teddy were any more adorable, she'd be illegal! Does she know that she has such a huge fan club? Maybe you had better not tell her. She may demand more pampering, as if that were possible! ;-) What a sweetheart she is!

And you are too, for once again taking the time to share your adventures!!

It's Freezing here in the Midwest! 5 below last night with a windshield factor of 15 below! I like sitting here in my warm house and going on a trip with you and Teddy via your blog! Thanks so much! Always love it!
Thanks for sharing those. I live in the South west so snow is hard to come by. It helped remind me of the season.

Oh Teddy looks so lovely in leg warmers, you need to buy some rubber booties for her so she can go out in slush.lol

Glad you arrived home safe and sound. Loved your holiday snaps. I want to travel those roads, but in perhaps spring or autumn.
