Thrift Shopping

First I want to apologize for grossing you all out by putting yesterday's roadkill as the first picture. Cooking as I do, I tend to lose sight of how awfully shocking raw ingredients tend to be(picture Julia Child holding the monkfish), So for those that I have not driven away screaming into the night, I promise to never put the mother load of meat up first. How did I come to this understanding you might wonder? Because I returned to my post later in the day and almost screamed when I saw the picture. It caught even me off guard. I mentioned to the Blog Tech that he might act as an editor and he declined saying that I post about cooking all the time and so pics like this should be expected. However, when he was just here, I made him look at it and he almost hurled. That aside, Wednesdays are half off days at the thrift shops and I hit the ground running very early. I am only posting a few things because I think everything looks so much better cleaned up that I will post the others after they have been scrubbed. This sweet little silver plate basket cost me 99 cents.


A shamrock cut glass posy for 1.29. It is cut not pressed.


This vintage stain-free crocheted tablecloth in ecru was 4.99. But it was half of day so 2.50.


I love finding cute little jam pots because during the summer when I make jam, they make a nice gift for neighbors. 2.99


Another cute silver basket for 69 cents. Easter is on it's way! This will make a nice basket for cookies or rolls to give as a gift.


Two embroidered linen guest towels for 1.99.


Two vintage crocheted pillow shams. Two for 1.99. I collect french vintage linens and though these are not French, they were a good bargain.




Seven vintage yellow lace edged napkins for 1.49.

Three more, one with a crocheted border, the other two embroidered.

There will be many more tomorrow but for now I will spend the afternoon prying stickers off of everything and washing lots of glass.
