If you look very closely you can see the first peaches forming. This makes me happy but apprehensive at the same time because I can envision what I will be doing on July 10th or somewhere close to that. I will be peeling millions (or at least it will seem like millions) of peaches to can and make into jam and pies.
Azaleas
Lemon leaves
Bay leaves
I forget...what are these? I bought them when I bought my lupines but I can't remember what they are.
Cinnamon fern
Chameleon plant
Sorry to just give you macro shots today but I have had quite a morning. I had my arborist scheduled at 8:00 this morning. This is an important day because we have to walk the whole property and I have to instruct him about what to trim and cut and remove. I have been waiting for him for two months so there was no thought of canceling him. I also had my garden team showing up for the first spring cleanup which entails much the same as above. I woke up, brushed my teeth and put my contacts in. I came downstairs to the kitchen and realized I could hardly see. I put on my reading glasses and things were still very blurry. It was very early and I was half awake and I just could not figure out what was wrong. I thought perhaps my contacts were in backwards. I turned them around and still had blurry vision. I put in a new pair. Still no luck. I thought, ok...allergies, this will clear up in a moment. Half an hour later it was no better. Now I start to really worry. I went all kinds of Woody Allen. Did I have a stroke? Did I have some kind of weird eye aneurysm? I get a couple migraines a year so I finally figured this must be some strange beginning to a huge migraine. I called my arborist and told him he would have to stumble through the gardens on his own because I am suddenly blind. He was horrified. I instructed the garden crew to do the same. They basically ignored me. They have been around me for many years and pretty much ignore me all the time anyway. So, much to my dismay I decided I had to just go and lay on my bed and wait for the big migraine to hit. Before hitting the sack I thought I might as well remove my contacts. I took them out and put on my regular glasses and behold....a miracle! I could see!!! I grabbed all the boxes of contacts, jumped in the car and headed to the eye doctor. My perscription for contacts is a +2.50. The boxes they gave me were full of -2.50. I was literally blind when using them. I had just opened a new box and never bothered looking at the prescription. PHEWWW...what a morning. My trees are now being trimmed correctly and my garden crew saw that I finally had two good eyes on them. The arborist asked how I recovered so quickly from the horrendous migraine, rather than go through the whole story , I answered with one word.....DRUGS! What a morning!
Hope you are having clear vision today!

Wonderful photo´s today! My Jack in the pulpits hasn´t showed up yet, I do hope they have survived the hard winter we´ve had.

Oh, my. So sorry.
Glad it's all fixed.
I'm sure the grounds will be gorgeous when the experts are done.
Thanks so much!
Cheers!
Hope the big yard clean up went well without you!
Sorry though...that you had to suffer through the eye scare. I would be freaking too.
