Oktoberfest

On the way to the country farm market, the Blog Tech and I passed through a small rural town.

The first thing we saw was this. I almost wrecked my car.

Whoa baby!!!

Then I saw this cute little shop. With that, we decided we had to stop.

It was so charming inside. Notice the potato sacks used as drapes.

It held a combination of new and old.

Six of those grain sacks now reside with me! And they were only $2.00 each.

A cute little Halloween sign.

We smelled sausage cooking somewhere so we took off on foot to explore. We found some nice Victorian houses.

These people sure like purple.

Score....we found the sausage source.

We were so early that a lot of the tents we not set up yet.

You can look at this street and imagine the bustle of the crowd in a couple hours.

The firehouse had a sidewalk sale.

The churches were hosting bake sales.

Looks like this guy found the sausages too.

This was my favorite booth. This woman does some seriously cute things with gourds and pumpkins.

I wanted the big one but it wouldn't fit in my car.

This did not tempt me one bit. I don't want to be in a tiny trailer with slithering anythings!

This guy set up his own little yard sale tent.

I snagged these from him for $4.00.

You can't have an Oktoberfest without a dude dressed in lederhosen. Well, ok.....maybe these are khaki shorts but he has the rest of the costume down pat.

And seemed to be proud of it too. He is the Oktoberfest cryer.

And the Blog Tech dove on this one.

Click to enlarge. He chose the birch beer with a scoop of vanilla. All of the sodas were homemade. Blog Tech heaven.

The Blog Tech brought a few of these home.

Penguin painted gourds.

*Tomorrow's post will be dated today because I am leaving very early to head back out to the country to visit another small town. I will post pics of the trip when we return.

**Next week's giveaway will be a basket made up of things I find on tomorrow's trip.

***Remember to enter the this weeks giveaway by clicking on the button on my sidebar. A lot of the stuff in the basket came from this small town.

That's soooo quaint! Oh my gosh! I miss that seasonal stuff. Nothing in AZ ever gives even a hint of the season. I'm so nostalgic now. Would you adopt me? hee hee
I am ready for some fall festivals! Love the pumpkins and gourds. Those painted like penguins are too cute. Have fun today!

I think I had a similar plastic Jack O'Lantern when I was a child! They look very similar anyway.

I love the penguins.

Nobody does anything fun out here unless you count hanging up their dead deer.
I wish we had things like that over here. I would love to walk around there and most likely buy lots of things from those stands :-) :-) Especially those penguin gourds :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.
Oh my I love it all but I have to say my fave is the Penguin painted gourds, I just love Penguins .

What an adorable, autumny town! :) ♥
i would have wrecked the car too...

that little road that winds up past that farmhouse with the cloudy skies....oh, please..that sent me to the moon and back...and i was laughing cause i spied those jack o' lanterns and then i scroll down and see you scored them. 4 bucks...that was a HUGE SCORE !!!!

and all those pumpkins and Fall stuff...what's the deal? out here in dried out ol' california...nothing. a TOTAL bust so far :-{
good thing i have my own Halloween stash or i would be halloween-less.

loved seeing all of it. sunday night football and i had a special request. pastrami sandwhiches with jarlsberg grilled on sourdough with dill pickles and baby new potatoes sliced and roasted with olive oil and sea salt. me no like-ee pastrami sandwhich...
:-{

Felt like Fall this morning..made pancakes with Vermont maple syrup in that leaf bottle from Butternut Farm and applewood smoked bacon...and Bacon Monster ( teddy) was on high alert !!!!!
But of course you could have gotten that big pumpkin into your car. Of course LIFTING it would have been...a tiny chore..but..couldn't you have just wiggled your cute nose and bewitched it into your car? Joyce! That was some pumpkin!!!
