All Teddy All The Time

Hey fluffy butt!

Before I get to Teddy, I thought I would show a few pics of a farm I looked at a couple days ago.

I am looking for a small farmhouse to buy. My place is far too big and it is time to downsize. I expect this to be a lengthy process so I might as well get started. I like to house hunt in winter because I like seeing things when they look their worst.

This place was interesting but not the property for me.

It sits at the bottom of a steep ravine and a stream splits right behind the property. This is one of two cold cellars.

This is the other one.

As pretty as this area is, it was like walking on a sponge. I am sure when it rains, this is a swimming pool.

One of the streams. And in true form, I forgot to take a pic of the main house. But take my word for it, it was cute. Small but cute! I shall keep on looking.

Back to Teddy. Here Teddy...time for treats...and pills.

Pills you say? I don't think so!

No pills for me!

I know I need them but they taste awful.

But, mama does wrap them in tasty treats!

Just the thought of those pills makes me shake all over.

NO NO NO NO NO PILLS!!!!

Okay...I know I have to.

Slowly I move, step by step, inch by inch....

Okay mama...bring them on, let's get this over with.

While Teddy gets her pills, I thought I would show you what is going on in the upper gardens. The squirrels have attacked my pumpkins. They have wiped out quite a few already.

Someone said to rub the pumpkins with Armoral sheets to keep the squirrels away. It seemed to be working until yesterday. Look how shiny it makes them!

Good thing I closed the pool early.

A touch of red here and there.

Mostly the tops of the trees are changing.

This is why teddy is taking pills. Look at her poor eyes. Right after her surgical cone was removed, she developed a rash around her eyes. I was sure it had something to do with surgery or that she was allergic to her eye drops. Then recently I realized, she has hot spots from wearing the cone. Chows develop hot spots very easily. When she was wearing the cone it was during some of the hottest days of the summer. Her breathing created moisture inside the cone and basically the cone became a petri dish. This poor puppy must have been so itchy while she was wearing that thing. As soon as it came off she started scratching and then the hot spots became infected. Now she gets 75 mg of antibiotics for a month. These pills stink so bad that I can hardly stand to smell them and they freak her out. Plus I have to give her eye drops and rub a lotion on the hot spots. Much more fussiness than this chow likes. So, I now wrap the pills in Limburger cheese and wrap that in smoked salmon. So far so good. This is going to be a long month! And I stink!

poor teddy! hope the pills help. it's trying to be august in october this weekend....this horrid weather makes me want to stomp my feet & throw myself on the bed :/ those were neat cold cellars, but living at the bottom of a ravine would not be the place for me.

You always want the high ground around water.

Poor Teddy. I am sorry for her discomfort. I hope it clears up very quickly.

Now, when I can I ship you a goat?

Firstly, please tell Teddy we are all so sorry she has to take such awful pills, and that she has those hot spots; not fair after all she went through! But you can't beat smoked salmon!
Secondly, can't wait to see the properties you look at while farm-hunting. This will be so interesting. Be sure to get photos of the HOUSE next time, too! Thanks for sharing this with your loyal followers! Exciting!
oh poor teddy...thinking that she had an itch with that cone...darn it... she is just so cute...that face !!! the cheese and salmon sounds like a great combination....

Awwww, poor Teddy. Bless her little heart. I hope she will get better quick. One of our new puppies got spayed on Thursday and we were back in the Vet's office first thing this morning with her having a respiratory infection and then three hours later back yet again with a ruptured hematoma. *sigh* She back home now and sleeping.
Sending good JuJu for you and Teddy!

Poor Teddy. Hopefully the pills work and she gets to feeling better.

Sorry to hear about the squirrels. Your pumpkins are beautiful!
Teddy looks like she is doing pretty good even with the pill trauma. I learned to like limburger cheese from my grandfather. He loved it. I love the cold cellars. Someplace to put all these damn turnips.
Nice pictures, especially Teddy. Hope she has a quick recovery from her rash.
Good Luck with the farm hunting, and have a wonderful weekend.
Dianne :)
Poor sweetie, I bet those eyes will clear right up now with the pills and cooler weather.
It looks so crips and fall like there. What fun to look for a farmhouse!

It looks like you live in an amazing place. Is it hard to leave and find a new place? I think I'd have an awfully hard time leaving there.
We too are on the hunt for a small hobby farm.
I still want your dog!

Wishing you good luck in farm hunting.

Poor Teddy. Hope she finally gets past all of this and can feel better. I agree with Pricilla that high land near water is better. I love my house up on the hill.

I had to chuckle over the fluffy butt comment. Poor Teddy and her eyes. Does the Limburger cheese and smoked salmon really smell better than the pills? As long as she gets the medicine down, the healing can begin. Hope you find your dream farmhouse. You'll know it when you see it. I would love to downsize here, but can't afford it, since my husband became unemployed. Take care.

Seeing the places at their worst is a good plan, I think. :)

Poor Teddy; hopefully the month of pills will pass quickly and she will heal up nicely!

Poor Teddy, he has had a time of it hasn't he! I don't envy you moving, such a job! Those pesky squirrels, they are worse than children about getting into stuff!
