I've shown this recipe before but it is good enough to post again and perhaps some of you missed it last time. I never really make it the same way twice so this is a bit different than the last one.
Dice about 6 stalks of celery.
Then two medium onions.
Two green peppers.
And two poblano peppers.
Saute' these in some olive oil.
Add 2 pounds of ground beef.
Three tablespoons of cumin.
Three tablespoons of granulated garlic and 3 tablespoons of onion powder.
Add 4 tablespoons of chili powder. I also added 4 tablespoons of Caboom which you can order online.
Two large cans of crushed tomatoes.
Three cups of tomato juice.
A couple tablespoons of cracked black pepper and 2 teaspoons of salt.
And a few teaspoons of your favorite hot sauce. This is hands down my favorite one....Gator Hammock. It's not too hot but has tons of flavor.
I decided to add some hominy to my chili! It's just a little different touch but very good.
Add a can of drained black beans.
Add a can of pinto and butter beans too.
Stir it around and taste it. Adjust the seasoning.
I thought it needed more of a tomato flavor so I added a can tomato paste. Cover it and place it in a 325 degree oven for an hour or so.
Make some cranberry cornbread. Type it in my search bar to get the recipe.
Yum!
I like to serve it with shredded cheddar and diced onions. And top it with fresh cilantro.
And serve it with the cornbread!
