A Few Quick Recipes

We all love the cherry/lime sodas from Sonic so I thought I would recreate them and surprise my family.

Juice 6 large limes and mix them with 1/3 can of apple cherry juice concentrate.

Mix it together and keep it in the refrigerator.

When you want a glass, mix it with Sprite O for a diet version or just plain sprite.

Tastes just like the Sonic version.

I like to keep some of this dipping sauce around to serve with crusty baguettes. It's a great way to use fresh herbs when you have them.

Pour 1 cup of good olive oil in a saute' pan. Heat it over medium heat.

Add 1 T. chopped rosemary, 1 T. chopped oregano, 1 T. chopped thyme, 2 T. sweet paprika, 4 diced garlic cloves, 2 bay leaves crumbled, 1 tsp. of red pepper flakes and some sea salt.

Whisk this for about 8 minutes.

Pour it in a jar and keep it in your refrigerator until ready to use. Then, bring it to room temperature before serving.

Here is an idea for brunch or lunch. From left to right....babaganoush, hummus, tzaziki, chick pea salad, tabouli, the dipping sauce from above, homemade pickles and roasted Turkish peppers. assorted cheeses and sausage, olives, baguettes and pita. A romaine lettuce salad with onions and green olives with a Greek dressing.

Everyone always seems to enjoy the assortment!

That lunch looks like something I would like very much :-)

Have a great day!

Great ideas, Joyce! I will like to try that dipping sauce. Sorry to tell you, but here in Syracuse we have gotten about 9 inches of snow today and it is still coming down. Very windy and frappin' cold! You'd love it!!
