My daughter has another event coming up in September and she asked me to make a couple totems for table centerpieces. One needed to be a masculine Fall theme so I made this.
Here is a good sandwich you might want to try. I used a slice of my sourdough bread and topped it with Jarlsberg cheese then broiled it. I topped it with skillet browned asparagus sprinkled with freshly cracked black pepper and sea salt. Add a fried egg and there you have it. Can't be simpler or tastier.
Anyhow...back to the totem. I hit the thrift stores and bought some cheap glass pieces. I like using glass cake plates for the base. Then I used aquarium glue and glued a pressed glass bowl turned upside down to the plate. If you click the photo to enlarge it you can see that I added a small glass bowl turned upside down inside the hurricane lamp which is glued to the bowl. This little bowl will be used as a pedestal to give the statue height.
Next, I glued this hunter statue to the pedestal. I turned that small plate you see upside down and glued it to the top of the hurricane.
Then added an amber plate shaped like a sunflower glued to the small plate.
I then glued a ceramic pumpkin to the amber plate and turned a small fishbowl upside down and glued it to the amber plate. The top is made out of an upside down small wineglass and topped it with the upper portion of a glass pear. The small glass bowl which I used as the statue's pedestal is actually the bottom of the glass pear turned upside down. Follow that?

Such imagination and inspiration...
Plus, the ability to follow through, with your vision of what something could look like.
Mmmmm, too bad you can't "bottle" all of the above, and sell it. ,-) To lots of us, out here. Who never got that *inspiration gene.*
