A Rucksack

 For a very long time I have wanted a rucksack.  I am not quite sure why I didn't get one years ago.  I've been thinking that walking to markets to buy vegetables would be fun and also good exercise so I finally ordered one.  It only took a few weeks for the woman to weave it and it arrived a couple days ago.

 It is made with natural reed, seagrass and has a hardwood handle.

 I ordered it stained with black walnut weavers stain. I also ordered the custom leather harness with brass hardware.

 The company that makes these is Adirondack Basketry.

 This is the largest they make and is 22 inches long.

Very sturdy and nice looking too.  I better fill it with lightweight veggies until I get used to wearing this thing!

with the amount of veggies you go through for the shelter maybe you should have bought two,

It looks like what we call Näverkont. Näver is the bark from the birch tree though but it looks very similar.

It is just gorgeous. As Dog Trot Farm mentioned, LLBean had a version many, many years ago. It stuck in my head as being very classy and honest in design. This one is surely even better made. I'd love one but unlikely to find it here in UK.
