As I was cooking yesterday, I glanced at my desk and really saw it for the first time in a while. It was a mess! I had been turning a blind eye to it and when I focused on it, I was horrified. I dropped everything and dove into cleaning it up. Does this ever happen to you? Having a mess and not seeing it? At first I was just going to clean off my desktop but once I started, it turned into a much bigger project. I took a good hard look at my cookbooks and got rid of at least 100 of them. I have at least a thousand more. If anyone wonders how I learned to cook, this is a big part of it.
My kitchen looked like a bomb went off in it.
After several hours my desktop was very organized.
Much neater shelves and a good start in ridding myself of cookbooks.

Guess we have learned to sort of "protect" ourselves, over eons. Because some things just can't be done immediately. So our fore-fathers/mothers learned to "not see." When/where necessary.
Maybe??? LOL
That Floral Fete will not be held till the first of August. :-) I think it's so cool, that our city is really INTO this 150 year Ann. of Racing... By doing lots of cute/fun things...
I have a friend who is a rare book dealer & he once complained about a customer who had - get this . . . 4,000 cookbooks!
