The second week of the house redo is over and everything is now on hold. The window specialists 'forgot' to inspect the tracks on the windows and when they tried to install them, they wouldn't work. All new tracks and hardware are now ordered but no one knows when they will arrive and all the scaffolding has been removed, not a good sign. SIGH! This is why people hate projects like this. How someone can be in the window business and not know the steps to take before installation is beyond me. And this is all done under the watch of the best general contractor in my area. When you do these projects, you really have to be prepared to be your own general contractor even when having hired one. The only role that I see these guys play is that they produce the workers but they really don't oversee the project. Oh, they do send you the bills though. Anyway, I made the workers cinnamon buns on Friday.
1 cup very warm milk
2 eggs
1/3 cup butter(melted)
4 ½ cups bread flour
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup white sugar
2-1/2 tsp. rapid rise yeast
Mix and knead until you have a smooth ball of dough. Place it in a buttered bowl, cover it and let it rise until doubled.

Roll it out into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
Filling:
1 cup brown sugar
2 ½ tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/3 cup butter-softened
Mix this together and spread it on the rolled out dough.
Roll the dough into a log. Cut it into 12 pieces and place them in a buttered 9 X 13 pan. Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes. Sorry, I forgot some pics. Bake in a 375 degree over for about 40 minutes.
Frosting:
3 ounces of cream cheese(softened)
¼ cup butter(softened)
1 ½ cups powdered sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt
Beat this until fluffy and spread on top of the warm buns.
The workmen were thrilled.
While they work on my back porch, Teddy lays right here watching for them to show an elbow or head behind the covered ladder I've placed there to block her view. Then she barks like crazy at them until the body part disappears again. What a pup.

They would go great with my tea right now!
Cinnamon buns are always right! I feel like I want something sweet for my tea but I think I'll kake it easy onb me and just make some shortbread cookies :-)
You know that no one will ever get in to Your house without Teddy warning and most probably bite the intruder :-)
Have a great day!
