Decorating for Fall

 It's started!  I know I am early, I'm always early.  But with the wedding looming on the horizon, I'm trying to check off as many things as I can before all out craziness begins. This is gong to be a HUGE wedding. I can't reveal things on the blog because this celebration is going to be one incredible surprise after another and I can't give them away. If you notice my lack of cooking posts, it's because my time is spent doing all wedding stuff, all the time now. As you can see, I was decorating in the dark. Decorating my Fall mantle checks off one of the tasks and gives me a meditative place to go when I need to lower my blood pressure. Plus, with the Summer from hell, I can gaze at the mantle and envision cool, crisp Fall days.

At least I can try. It's tough to do when you and your dog are melting.

I did think it was a bit early :-) but I can fully understand why You're doing it already. You would have loved the weather here today, cool, windy and semi cloudy.No rain as predicted though but that's how I like it :-)

I'm with you. I love anything fall. My son got married two years ago in September. Though a bit early, I drove the countryside day in and out looking for pumpkins, corn husks, bales, mums etc. Scored a few but paid a big price. Good luck with your preps. Knowing you Joyce there will be so many great surprises. Enjoy.

I'm at the point where anything red, orange or yellow makes me sweat even more than I already am. As far as I'm concerned - we could have a nice loooong fall. Starting tomorrow. Damn the tomatoes.

Autumn is calling my name too. The decorations are BEAUTIFUL. Happy wedding planning. Been there done that. it is a chore, a real labor of love.

July is about to end. Blueberries are being harvested, as today it is the Sainte-Anne. I think it is time to prepare the coming of autumn. in my case, my baby boy will come with the season, so it is all the more reasons to prepare it.

You are not alone. I took down all the Memorial Day/July 4th decorations, and the mantel looks BARE. I'm thinking autumn, and hoping to make our hot days go away, too.

As someone who looks at a majority of her Vintage Halloween/Witch collection year 'round, I can never decorate too early. August is also the time I begin to bring out some of the Halloween swag. Especially since I like to enjoy it as long as possible. Looks great! I'm so excited to know more about the wedding.
