This past July, Willie came up lame.
At first we thought perhaps his Lyme disease returned.
I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem but around here it is extremely hard to get a vet appointment. Apparently, lots of people got dogs during the pandemic.
It took almost a month to get him in and the vet could not find anything wrong with his leg so he agreed it might be the return of Lyme and put him on antibiotics.
I gave them to him for three weeks and saw absolutely no improvement. Back to the vet again and they still couldn't find anything wrong, even with an x-ray so now he was put on anti-inflammatories.
We also got a referral to a specialist but they couldn't see him for over a month.
And here we are, three months from the start of this and his appointment is tomorrow.
I am so nervous that it is an ACL tear and he will need surgery. However, he walks on it with hardly a limp. Though, when he stands still he still doesn't put full weight on it.
Fingers crossed and I guess we will know something tomorrow.

It is generally so much harder on us when our beloved pet has an injury or illness. Hope all goes well for Willie.
