The Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), the Global Peace Index (GPI) is the world’s leading measure of global peacefulness.
They recently ranked all countries by their levels of peacefulness.
The top 10, in order, are: Iceland, New Zealand, Ireland, Denmark, Austria, Portugal, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Singapore & Japan.
The United States is ranked #129, right behind Zimbabwe & Azerbaijan.
Make of that what you will.

Confirmed that I made the right decision in coming to New Zealand from Britain in 1965.
