New England Magic and a New Giveaway

The winner of last weeks basket is: Divaeva Send me your info and I will ship it right out to you!

This weeks giveaway is straight from Salem!!! It contains a spell book, a Salem Witch tea towel, a black witch candle. a bag of pumpkin caramels, a Halloween countdown calender,a cute JOL decoration and....

A bundle of incense and a quill and ink from my favorite witch store.

Raven's blood ink.

To enter, leave a comment on this post. If you are not already a follower, sign on to follow. I will announce the winner next Saturday and a new giveaway will be posted at that time. Good Luck!

This is simply the best witch store around. I make a beeline for it as soon as I arrive in Salem.

Click to enlarge any pic for a better look. Anyone who has followed me for a time knows that I collect only authentic witch items. I only buy quality. Put simply, there is a lot of junk out there. This store carries only quality and oak items.

Do you notice the book on the table? It is a reproduction of the Hocus Pocus spell book.

I bought my reproduction Practical Magic spell book here last year. They have another one in stock right now. The reproductions are blank so you can fill them in on your own. You can always look at the original which I have posted many times and copy some of those spells if you wish.

You can purchase blank spell books or spell books which already have spells and drawings in them.

I took some of these shots through the window so they are not very good. New England Magic carries spectacular stained glass pentagrams, ravens and fairies. And I have to mention, their prices are really great for the workmanship.

The quality of their crystal balls is some of the best I have seen.

You can barely see this but it is a hanging stained glass Pan.

It is right on Essex Street in Salem. New England Magic

Now let's go inside for a look. This is the first time the owner has allowed her store to be photographed. Fun!!!

Ahhhh...a witches Mecca. You can get a reading back in the nook in front of the black door. There are many one of a kind paintings by various artists.

They carry a wonderful selection of capes and hats.

They offer custom made spell books. You can see one on the book stand.

This sign used to hang in front of their old shop in Rockport.

Take a look at the books on the bottom shelf of the second cabinet. These are handmade in Italy and have gold leaf on the covers.

They carry very affordable BOS's as well. Now everyone knows where to buy a spell book.

Their assortment of products is exceptional. You can find just about anything you might need.

And they have an awfully cute pup named Pumpkin!

Who was only too happy to pose for me in the reading area.

And then ran off to visit each and every customer and welcome them to the store. Not a job for Teddy! Teddy would chase all of the customers away.

This sign was hand painted by one of the employees.

And look what I bought while I was there.

These books are made by Witches Moon and the quality is exceptional. Now you know why I am diggin' this store so much!

Look at the detail.

Wonderful paper and satin markers.

This is one hefty book. It must weigh ten pounds.

They told me they just started their online store. If there is anything you need just contact them. They are very friendly and extremely helpful.

I can't believe my trip is almost over. But I will return next October as I always do and New England Magic will be the first place I head to.

Tomorrow I will be traveling again so the Blog Tech will be doing a guest post about his time spent here in Salem. He took a lot of pictures which I have not yet seen so I look forward to reading it too!!!

The give away sounds like so much fun and it looks great so I would love to join.
Thank you very much !!
I've just visited the site but the shop part of it isn't finished yet - I'm really to see what their prices are like as their stock looks like really good quality. (There's a lot of nasty cheap stuff around unfortunately.)

I was walking around the garden outside today and plop, you came into my head. Sorry I haven't been around very much on the 'net and I haven't visited your blog for ages. I've been feeling a bit down to be honest. (Don't tell anyone that !!) ;-)

Nice to see you in full swing ! (As usual.)

I am so ready for a family trip to Salem. Thank you very much for all the great pics of all there is to see and do. I am not sure about a visit in October, though it is tempting for obvious reasons. Am sure the crowds would be more than I would enjoy. I think you have not only inspired me to make the drive from Wisconsin, but have instilled an new interest in all things "witchy." Sorry to hear that you had to cut your vacation short, but there is always next year! As always, a chance at one of Teddy'g great giveaway items a must. So cool!
Thanks once again!

Oooh, what a great giveaway!
Thanks so much again!

May I ask where you had your tarot readings done in the past? I had my cards read at Pyramid Books in Salem and thought the session went pretty well. I don't usually like to indulge in stuff like that though but every once in a while, the temptation gets the best of me.

New England Magic is a nice shop. I also love Laurie Cabot's store down by the Wharf (it's run by her daughter) and they carry gorgeous wands, jewelry, and all sorts of wonderful supplies.

Hope you're having a wonderful time in Salem. Enjoy your stay!

Hey Jaz...

Loved this post because her shop is indeed one of the best. I met the girl who owns it several years ago while in Salem, and bought a few Bethany Lowe Halloween items from her then. She was a beautifully bewitching red haired girl too, and friendly, as was her pooch Pumpkin.

At the time, when we were talking, I seem to remember her telling me that her husband was a Police Officer! Not sure if they are still married, but I remember wondering to myself how that works...a Witch and a Police Man...ha! But she said he takes it all in stride even though he wasn't Wiccan. I just loved the whole visual of he in his uniform and she in her black cape, hat and striped stockings...ha! And I think I remember her saying something to the effect of when he has to go out on a call because the 'Witches' have trespassed in the graveyard or any other commotion, that he always worries he'll find her there...or something similar to that. It made me laugh. Thanks so much for the Salem post this year also.

You and I were there almost at the same time last year. And this year we didn't go, so I am REALLY missing it. But your blog has been a nice way to 'pretend' I am there in person, although I can assure you I am there in Spirit always! ;o)

Oh boy, how I wish I had a shop like this to go to. Boo Hoo. What a perfect shop!! I checked to see if they had an online shop, but I guess it's just for advertising. Just as well, I've been spending lots of money on my upcoming Halloween birthday. It hasn't been as much fun as it used to be. So I decorated well, bought the Incense, Oils & Brews book by Cunningham. Now I must tend to those potions and such, to make the big day more fun. Jaz you are far too generous to give so much away!! You are Blessed!!

Oh my, please enter me in the drawing. I eat your blog up with a spoon, I would love to have something witchy and wonderful from you. I have to admit that last week my now husband and I drove to Niagara Falls to elope - and the whole way through New York I drove him crazy talking about Octoberfarm. I kept saying, "but MAYBE she's traveling right now too, MAYBE we could run into her and her dog at a little roadside pumpkin stand. And after I tell her how much I love her blog MAYBE she'll want to invite us over to that incredible house she lives in" And he answered with "and MAYBE she's getting a restraining order against you right now, ya creepy weirdo" :) Nonetheless, love this blog!
