Apple and Blueberry Galette

I am always a happy camper when I have frozen pie crusts in my freezer.  I occasionally take time to  make a bunch of dough, place it in jumbo baggies, roll it out and freeze it.  Pie making is so simple when the dough is made in advance.  Using up my frozen dough elicits the same response some people have when spending money.  I hate to see it go!  However, I save the scraps like some people save change.  When I need a quick dessert, I dip into those scraps.
I took some out of the freezer yesterday to make my husband a quick dessert.  I just rolled it out and topped it with chopped apples and blueberries tossed with a bit of sugar and flour and a squeeze of lemon.  I added a little butter to the top and sprinkled cinnamon sugar over it all.

It baked for about 50 minutes at 350 degrees.  You can tell when a pie is done by seeing the liquid bubbling.  At this point in my life, I can tell when things are done by the smell.

Let it cool and then transfer it to a plate.

Sprinkle it with a little bit of powdered sugar.

 So simple and so good.

Pie is never wrong but looking in my freezer and pantry IO realise I don't have any kind of berries or fruits at home to make a pie :-)

Have a great day!

Christer.
Your husband is a lucky guy.

Such a beautiful galette! Your food always looks so tasty. I never thought of making it that way, I usually stick to pies, but I have some frozen berries to use up AND I also have some homemade frozen pie crusts!!! :)
