It's Fruit Season

I made my weekly trip to Amish country and found that Nectarines are in season.

Apricots too.

I stopped at my favorite thrift store and found this mid century modern pitcher and glasses for 6.99.  These were made by The West Virginia Glass Company in Weston, WV.

And this was the find of the day!  A handmade walnut rocking chair.

What a wonderful find and I'm giving it to my DIL.

Someone put a lot of love into making this chair.

No nails or screws in this piece, the entire chair is held together with handmade pegs.  It is beautiful and hopefully will someday rock my grandchild.

I've had a lot of luck finding rockers lately.  I am almost done painting the ones I bought last week for my daughter and The Chef.

A little more work today and they will be rocking in them tomorrow.

You found some great deals. What glass company made the pitcher? I live in WV and so many glass plants have closed in the last few years. I have some Fenton glass and some others from closed plants. Such a shame too.

I do like tyat rocking chair!

Prices on them vary a lot over here, it all depends on if any famous decorator use one or not :-) :-)

Hot and nasty over here today.

Have a great day!

Christer.
I love rocking chairs for rocking babies--none of those gliders for me.

That rocking chair is an AMAZING find!!! And the painted ones are looking good! The pitcher and glasses are so cute, I can see myself putting sangria in them! :)

Make up some cucumber water and rock the day away. It's perfect for the hot weather.

wow that is a beauty. I wonder what the story is behind it and why it didn't get to stay in the family. I'ts found a lovely new home.

I love harvest. Tomorrow is Saint Anne's Day. Time to harvest wild blueberries.
Wow, that walnut rocker needs to go INSIDE the house, not on the verandah!
