More Progress

I finally have a new cedar shake roof on my potting shed.  Years ago, I grew roses over the top of this little building which trapped leaves, which held in moisture, which rotted the old shakes.  Lesson learned!

Roses will now grow only on the sides of this shed and the branches on the big dawn redwood behind it have been trimmed.  So, now I have lots of sun reaching the new roof to keep it dry and allow air to circulate.

And I have a boiler and a reserve tank in the new basement. This is so much less scary than the old boiler.

The door between the kitchen and TV room has been stained. You can see one of the beams in the background.  All of my wood in the basement will match as much as possible.

And the pocket door to the pantry has also been stained.

And this is one of the new copper downspouts that was installed yesterday.  I'm taking care of everything on the outside which could allow water to enter the basement.  Little things but they all add to the end result!
