So true... it seems to me, the ones who try to hide the truth have their own guilt to hide.
Yes, the past must be viewed truthfully if we are to learn from it.

Looking over time, history repeats. Learning from the past (mistakes and successes) is important and telling.

Ken Burns has always been such an excellent source of revealing the truth about our country ... more then any other person!
We have to be careful to examine motives and ideologies of those who write history.

Just because we live in America does not mean we are a perfect people. A lot of terrible things have happened since we've been a country, things we aren't proud of. I also think that we can say that about many other countries as well. But let's learn from them and not repeat them.
