Halloween 2022

Well, it's over again.  Damn.  And unlike Xmas, I have no toys to play with. But, it was a glorious Halloween!

I only carved one JOL this year.  I like to save them for Thanksgiving.

I made chili mole' with cornbread skulls and I made My Husband's favorite brown butter Rice Krispy treats.

My daughter dressed as a witch and wore one of the hats I made.

Now it is time to put the decorations away...or not.  I leave some of them up all year long!

We made 130 bags of candy and I had about 50 boxes of theater candy and we ran out.  I was afraid we wouldn't get many trick-or-treaters and I sure was wrong.

A closeup of the hat.

The bowls were lined up for the chili.

My Daughter walked around and took pics of everything just before candy time.

It was such a wonderful night.

How wonderful! No one comes down our little road, but my lamp is lit, and a bowl on the porch, even though I was with friends at a Samhain gathering.

This year my husband & I seated ourselves at the bottom of our hilly driveway. "Meet 'em at the street" worked just fine! Love your photos!
Yeah, it was a great Halloween here too! There was no snow this year and it was +5C which is pretty mild for Oct 31st. We had more trick-or-treaters too. Usually we get about 45, maybe 50 on a good year, but last night we got 62. We ran out of candy at 7:30 and had to turn off the lights.

I made 48 bags of candy and gave away 13 plus one to the Amazon delivery guy! We get visitors every year!
We have no lights on the outside of the house! So, the lights are always off. We watched three Frankenstein movies and two Dracula movies.

Glad you enjoyed your Halloween. It sounded perfect. And I bet so was that chili. Don't know if we got any trick-or-treaters. My husband and I were in the next town over and when we got home all was quiet in our neighborhood. I hate that October goes by so fast, but November is my 2nd favorite month, so I'm going to enjoy it too.
