this is the first really warm sunny day here. i just came in from watering and things are really starting to come up. the radishes are thriving and there are signs of carrots, arugula, scallions, leeks and lettuces. i couldn't stand it anymore so i dug up a pea to see what was happening. i am turning into the mother that pinches her sleeping child to make sure he is still breathing! sure enough..the pea had a 3 inch root and a small sprout. they just haven't broken through the dirt yet. i am baking canadian butter tarts today and i will post a pic later.
