Carmel Crack(ers)

The garden progresses

A new (really old) potting table. The oil cloth table was not holding up well. So I went hunting for something to replace it and found this very very old farm table. Perfect! It has a missing drawer so i will just us "S" hooks and hang tools in that space.

I tried this new recipe this morning. You use matzos to make this. You line a cookie sheet with plain matzos. Melt 2 sticks of butter and add one cup of light brown sugar. Bring this to a boil and let it boil for 3 minutes. Add 1 tsp of vanilla and stir. Pour this mixture over the matzos and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. As soon as you take it out of the oven, sprinkle 2 cups of chocolate chips over the surface. Let them sit for 5 minutes to soften then spread the chocolate all over the top. Sprinkle with sea salt over the top. Let this cool completely and then break into pieces. These are killer good. People will swoon! Next time I am making them with white chocolate and chopped macadamia nuts.

Mmmmmm.....

matzos are jewish/hebrew crackers. you can find them in the hebrew section of your grocery store. we have a large jewish population so you might not have them where you live. if you can't find them you can use saltines and leave out the sea salt. you can also use graham crackers which will really be sweet.
