Witches and Gardens

A glass witch paperweight...

This is a very, very rare Salem Witch card case from the 1800's. It is red leather and has a sterling Salem Witch on the front.

It still has the owner's name and the date 1898 on the inside. These were produced by Daniel Lowe in Salem, Massachusetts.

This is a German pin dish with the Salem Witch on the front and the date of the witch trials...1692.

This pin tray is made out of bakelite so was probably made in the 1950's.

Someone is guarding a gate!

My bay leaves....

The mock orange has formed a grotto over the upper falls.

This huge Weeping Beech weighed 7 tons when I put it in a few years ago. The whole area you are about to see was vacant. Not even a weed was growing here when I started this project. I picked out every single tree, shrub and plant you will see. Except for the big trees, I planted every single plant. I brought in all the stone and rocks as well.

Paper Bark Maple....

This is a perennial i love....the Mountain Laurel is about to bloom.

A huge Red Japanese Maple next to the large pond.

Enter the secret garden behind yesterday's doors.....

That's my potting shed in the back.

Head lettuces and broccoli.....

Look at those blueberries! I have about thirty blueberry bushes.

Brussel sprouts...

Espaliered apples against the fence...

Black iron witch.....

In just 4 years the neighbor's house is almost obscured.

A place to rest along the path.

Climbing hydangea about to bloom....

A copper spider web and spider on the side of the garage.

An Oakleaf Hydrangea about to bloom.......

It is called Oakleaf Hydrangea because of the shape of it's beautiful large leaves. These turn brilliant colors in the Fall.

A Climbing Hydrangea just opening up.....

It grows up the wall on the back of the garage.

An arborvitae sprouted out of the wall behind the pool...time to pull it out!

Enjoyed seeing the Native American collection as well. We have quite an extensive collection as well.(My Hubby is Cherokee and I grew up in the American Southwest.)

I will be sure to come back & visit often! Please stop by my place again if you get the chance. Happy Haunting!

Hello Jaz, I see you're far from a novice gardener. What a beautiful garden you have there. Hanno is away for a week. It's just me, Alice and the chooks here. I hope to get a bit of writing done, along with the extra work. I'm enjoying the solitude so far.

Magnificient ! All those little touches here and there. And those steps are enormous ! What beautiful work you did, dear.

I love the image on the glass paperweight, because we see many witches flying and they have their cat with them.

You did an amazing AMAZING job! It is so beautiful and so natural looking. THat is what I love to see...not prudish precision but a garden that has been so wonderfully put together that it looks like mother earth did it herself. Great job and I cant wait to see more pics!

Stunning flowers. I am jealous but then the goats would eat it all so I will just have to marvel at your garden.

Have fun with your macro. I play with mine when I photograph my jewelry
