Friday Shopping

I love to shop in the old market district. There is all kinds of fresh bread every morning.

And bulk olive oil. You can bring your own containers.

It's rough around the edges but that is what makes it charming.

Hand painted signs

And they are very gracious!

Fresh flowers along the sidewalk.

Freshly made pizza and pastas.

And a nun selling raffle tickets.....it's hard to say no to a nun!

Everything is much cheaper than in grocery stores.

And you can buy large quantities if you want to.

I was there earlier than the vendors. You really have to push hygiene out of your mind.

Some souped up autos line the streets.

Lots of Asian markets too.

I love to cook but I don't really get the cook to love...well, maybe.

Lots of little cafes.

You can find almost anything you need.

Didn't Burger King just get in trouble for something like this. This is a woman that loves her gyros!

Buskers

Sidewalk vendors

Selling summer dresses and winter hats

Things for the garden

And live plants

Wild life!!!

Hey, someone might drop something. There is a lot of sidewalk food after all.

Want a pair of shoes?

Or maybe a purse?

I love this place!!!

Wow--where the heck is this? Looks like Nirvana. I love gyros, haven't had a good one since NY.
I want those flames for my back window!!
We have nothing like that here, but down in Gothenburg where I grew up they have it. Wish we could have it here too!

I´ve just sent You a mail.

When I go to Montreal or Ottawa, I like to go to the Markets. That's such fun ! I can find herbs and stuff I can't find anywhere else.

As for hygiene, as you say, it's not a priority... but well washed and cooked, the food is ok, as long as it smells nice.

Been on the job all week, lulu is tired ;)

Oh for those kinds of markets. They are so much fun.

You don't want to know what our farmer's market looks like...it's sad.
I'd love to wander around that market.. what fun!
