The Country Living Fair

Sorry I didn't post yesterday. My son and I drove to Ohio to attend The Country Living Fall Fair and we returned later than expected.

As if I wasen't already in a Fall mood, now I am even more.

What a fun fair this was.

Pumpkins and gourds and hay everywhere.

Some very unique tents were scattered here and there.

Antiques as well as crafts were for sale.

We purchased early bird tickets and got in at 9:00 am.

I loved this table setting.

The fair was held in the old Ohio Village and they even had their own gardens.

With someone in period costume working in it.

They had really nice antiques.

Click to enlarge for a better look.

Lots of pillows for sale. Many were made from old grain sacks and coffee bean bags.

The Oscar Meyer Wiener mobile was there.

Willow furniture.

And lots of quilts.

They had their own pumpkin patch where you could buy pumpkins.

Tomorrow I will post a few more pics of the fair, the items I bought and the market place we went to after we left.

*Halloween Memories: What was your favorite Halloween treat? I loved milk chocolate Nestles candy bars. I traded all of my Butterfingers to my brother for his Nestles bars.

What a wonderful way to spend the day. I wish there was something like that around here. No way I'd have given away my butterfingers! :-)

how's teddy doing?

I have always wanted to go, but from CA, it is too far to drive.

My favorite holiday treat was $100,000 bars or caramel apples with peanuts. YUM!

My favourite of your pictures was the quilt one...were they vintage or modern?

Wow! I would have gone gah-gah over the reclamation pieces. I love old windows and doors. I'd kills just for the cooler weather, myself. We're heading back up to 106 over the next several days--it never freakin ends here! I cool off the house, close the curtains, and pretend. I love being able to check into autumn at your blog! My favorite candy I got in my bag was always Milky Ways. I nibbled the sides off of them and then nibbled the top chocolate off, turned them upside down so the caramel was against my tongue and nibbled.

I really love the willow furniture. Did you buy the pumpink picture ? ;)

We have so much different things up here, the antiques are not the same. It is another world to me. Fascinating.

Thanks, dear.

P.S. How is Teddy-baby doing ?

Funny, we went to one of those fairs today, here in England. It does not feel much like autumn today, as it is quite hot, but the colours have started to show up.

Neat fair ~ I love the quilts. We don't have many fairs around here, not like this anyway. We have lots of seafood festivals though!

My favorite candy at Halloween mmmm...I loved Mary Jane's (still do) and the little Crunch Bars!

Thanks for sharing the fair, it almost felt like being there. I bet you had a great time. I'm also wondering what finds you brought home, anticipation for tomorrow. I never seen this weiner mobile before either, pretty neat looking. I was worried that something got worse with Teddy, when I didn't see you post yesterday. Hope he's doing better.

I sold last year and just couldn't fit it into my schedule this year. Your photos are great and it sounds like you had a fabulous time.
