halloween Decorations and a Recipe

A while back I bought this frame with a mirror in it for 2.95. I removed the mirror and painted the frame a glossy black.

Then I cut out a witch pattern and glued it on to some thin cardboard.

I bought a piece of glass for 1.86 and put the print in the frame. Instant Halloween decoration.

This was another cheap frame for 1.95. I removed the old print and added the above.

Here are the 3, I have made so far. Pretty nice cheap Halloween decorations!

Teddy update: she is back in the hospital. I was seeing absolutely no improvement in her leg at all. I called first thing this morning and insisted they see her again. I told them I wanted to have her seen by an Orthopedist. When an animal suffers from heat stroke, toxic bacteria is released into the body. This is what kills animals with heat stroke. We are now thinking that this bacteria has infected her hock where they took blood. It has to be cultured and she will have to be on heavy duty antibiotics if this is the case. This will be a problem because it is almost impossible to get her to take pills. My stress level is off the charts about now!

OH I am so sorry to hear about Teddy, I hope its not that toxic bacteria. I love our animals and I know that Teddy is a member of your family. I pray she will be well soon.

I love your Halloween decorations ~ especially the witch you cut out ~ wow!
I don't have any decorations for Halloween up yet ~ for me its just a tad too early.
When I went walking this morning I saw several homes getting in the "spirit!" One had a giant black spider (and I mean hugs!) and web hanging in the doorway!

I am so very sorry about Teddy. Worry about pets is so hard. They can't tell you what's wrong....I hope she gets better. Lots and lots of goat hugs. And a couple of human ones too.

I am sorry to hear about Teddy. Positive thoughts coming her way for a complete recovery.

Just a thought, my dogs don't like taking pills either. I don't know if you have ever tried this product, but I have found that pill pockets work wonders, they think they are getting a treat.

Sorry to hear Teddy is noe better, I do hope they quickly find the cause of her discomfort and give her relief. Love and light to you both.
The Halloween pictures are really creepy!
To bad what´s happening with Teddy! I´m lucky to have dogs that are easy to give pills to. My brother however has two dogs that are more or less impossible to give pills to. Perhaps the medicine is avalible as a fluid medicine too?

It´s perfect to buy old frames and put other pictures behind. Old frames is usually so much more beautiful.

Hope everything will be ok with Teddy, but try to have a good day anyway!

Oh no, I am so sorry to hear about Teddy. I sure hope the vets can figure out the problem quickly and get her on the mend! I am sure you have tried putting pills in hot dog pieces and all that. You might ask the vet about a pill popper. It is a long plastic tool that the pill fits in the end and you can use it to give pills to pets. I have had to use one with the goats before, still difficult but I couldn't have imagined giving them a pill without one.

It won't be long until Halloween! I can't believe how fast the summer went. I have to say that is the one and only thing I don't like about living in the country...we don't get any trick or treaters on Halloween anymore. :(

I am so sorry Teddy is back in the hospital. Nothing is going to make you feel better until she is home. Do try to get some rest she will need you when she comes home.

You are so talented at creating old things into something so wonderful and new! Love the witch and cauldron picture.

I am so sorry about your baby. Actually i am going through a similar situation right now. I hope she will feel better soon. Sending healing thoughts towards Teddy!
Very clever and creative Hallowe'en decore Jaz! And I'm sorry to hear that about Miss Teddy! I will be sending her healing vibes. Hang in there! We just had to have our 15 year old Shetland Sheepdog put to sleep last Monday, so I know how the worry can get to you!

Sending lots of healing energy Teddy's way. I had to try a bit of everything with my dog and pills. Some days it was peanut butter, some days cheese, some days it was soft treats with the pill shoved inside. Always an adventure.
Jaz, once again I must say that your blog is on the top of my must-see list. Your witch/Halloween collections and your cooking make me drool! Thanks for sharing both!

Also, Teddy is blessed to have you watching over her. Wishing her a speedy and full recovery and for you, some rest and peace of mind.

Positive vibes from here as well. Poor Teddy and you! Horrible when one of our family is not well. Let the vets know about Teddy's adversion to tablets, they may have a paste, or you may be able to crush them and pop them in food. Yogurt is a good one if Teddy eats it. (plain off course)

I would be mad with worry too... Hope she's better soon.

Love your pictures, dear.
I am so sad to hear your poor puppy is still struggling. I also feel for you too. I hope things get better soon and you find some relief from the worry and stress. Thanks for sharing your wonderful pictures. You have a talent for turning found objects into Halloween treasures. If you have time sometime, I would still love your apple pie recipe. Hope I didn't miss it.

I really like the idea of using old frames to create your own halloween decorations. It's a great way to really make the decorations look clean. Have you thought about creating Halloween stickers for temporary design too? http://sticviews.com has some great seasonal designs!
