Merry Christmas!!!

It's finally here! Merry Christmas to everyone.

The Advent House with all the doors and windows open.

This is what I saw when I crept downstairs to see what Santa brought. He brought me a white Christmas!!!

Teddy looked at me as if to ask why I put this white stuff on her patio.

The backyard.

Teddy was hardly awake.

Santa brought me a Canon EOS 5D Mark II. This baby is very intimidating and will take me a while to learn how to handle it. This was the first pic I took with it. No flash was used and this is a dark room.

This is our current favorite beverage. Limeade mixed with soda water.

We have had the same Christmas eve dinner for 27 years. Raclette.

This year we added thin slices of the no-knead bread broiled with garlic butter.

We always serve it with salt boiled potatoes.

On the top of the Raclette machine we cook salami, ham and sausages.

The cheese is placed on the little pans and broiled under the cooktop.

The meat is placed on the toast and the cheese is poured over top. This is served with sweet gherkins and pickled onions. Usually you slice the potatoes and pour the cheese over them.

Teddy is telling me that she likes Raclette too!

We loved the Raclette so much that we had it again for brunch served with fried eggs.

***I've been so busy today that I had no time to do the giveaway so it will be announced tomorrow. That gives you one more day to enter by clicking on the button on my sidebar!

I get to be the first to comment! Merry Christmas Jaz and enjoy bonding with your new camera. I have a new one as well, my daughter was tired of my sad 4 year old camera so she and her father picked me up a new one. :) No new snow here, but at least we had a white Christmas! Last night we had lamb tortierre, there are a few sick ones, so appetites are iffy.

I am lusting after a raclette.
Have a wonderful day.

I'm making scallops and risotto for dinner.

Plus I'm making danish for tomorrow's breakfast. First time trying that...I'll let you know how they come out.

Beautiful snow, beautiful food, beautiful pup! It doesn't get better than that. When I was a kid, we had Norwegian Xmas and my dad had us eat a Yule Pile for breakfast. It was basically a waffle and then the other components of breakfast were stacked atop of it like eggs, sausage, fruit, bread, cheese...

I MUST make that bread!
A white Christmas! How wonderful! The garden shot is fairytale like! So beautiful!

The foods, well, they look yummy!

Teddy looks lost in the snow!

Blessing to you all this day!

what a lovely way to start the day. I wish we had a little of the white stuff here. You'll get that camera figured out in no time at all.

Happy Holidays to you and your family!

For me on Christmas day I always have turkey (or veggie turkey today), but it is funny you mention raclette, as my family used to have it a lot around New Year. I miss it, as it is a perfect meal for winter.

I am totally in love with the lab glass decanter you hold the limeade in. ;)
White Christmas! Beautiful!

And a fancy new camera is pretty beautiful too!

Gentle snow-bound hugs...
Oooooh NO! Santa got lost and gave you my camera. I'll just send you my address and you can send it on to me. No trouble at all. Things like that happen now and then. :)
Hugs!!
So glad you enjoyed a nice holiday - and a white one at that. Teddy looks so calm in the midst of all the excitement. All those treats look so good. Theresa
