Mincemeat Tart Recipe

Mincemeat Tarts. These are an explosion of taste.

December 9th.

Remember the mincemeat?

I got out my heavy duty muffin pans.

And made a nut pastry.

I rolled it out and cut circles.

Then placed a circle in each muffin hole and spread it evenly to fit.

Once they were all filled, I scooped some mincemeat into each shell.

Then I cut smaller circles and fit them on as lids.

These baked for about 20 minutes. You can see the ones on the right were baked a bit longer. They cooled on racks.

Then I dusted them with powdered sugar.

I never made hard sauce for mincemeat tarts before but I thought if it was good with plum pudding why wouldn't it be good with the tarts too?

Just before serving you warm the tarts and let the hard sauce melt over the top. Oh yum!

I adore mincemeat tarts. Too bad they're only a Christmas treat!
OMG! These look fabulous with the hard sauce. I am so far behind I'll never catch up.

I am getting ready to put two loaves of the No Knead Sour Dough in the oven. One like you made and I'm doing one with cheddar, jalapeno and cilantro. Starting another double batch in the morning.
oh i wish i was at your house!!!!

Words like "yummy" and "cute", or even the ever dreadful "OMG" barely translate the morse code thumping of my little epicurian heart. Brava!
