A Few of My Favorite Things

My daughter loves to hang seasonal wreathes where she works so I made her one out of thrift shop finds.

I went thrifting this morning and have a very busy day so I decided to show you some of my favorite condiments and sauces that I buy.

I make my own ketchup, mustard and Worcestershire sauce so I don't buy prepared condiments easily. Recently someone introduced me to this new product and all I can say is...WOW! These artisan sauces are made in small batches by a husband and wife team. He is from Mexico and they have made these sauces to represent the pure natural ingredients used in the cooking in his hometown. They can be ordered at: www.guaposauce.com

These sauces have unlimited potential. I will be using them as a dip, a sandwich spread, in deviled eggs, in quesadillas, on hamburgers and I can't wait to try them with my breakfast eggs. This is one of the best new products I have come across in a long time!

This small family company produces flavored syrups. My favorite is Shag Bark Hickory. I think they are the only ones in the country that make this old fashioned syrup. They also offer a selection of other very unique flavors. Above is the rhubarb. They do not have a website yet but you can contact them at: Simple Products LLC, 10336 Township Road, 262 Millersburg, Ohio 44654 They ship!

Lea & Perrins is nothing new but take a closer look! They now make it in a thick consistency. Now, instead of flooding your plate, it hugs the entree. I love this on hamburgers with Swiss cheese and fried mushrooms. What a great improvement for an old reliable.

Oh yes.....Curry Ketchup! This is amazing stuff. You can use this any way you use your regular ketchup, this just makes it taste a whole lot better. You can find this and many other wonderful products at: http://www.germandeli.com

I still make my own chili seasoning from scratch but I always add some of this product to the mix. Not only is it fabulous as a chili seasoning, it can be used as a seasoning for all kinds of other dishes. You can find it at: www.cajohn.com

I don't know about you but I am always looking for new items to try. These are just a few that I totally endorse.

I love good thrifting days. I started collecting these pyrex stacking bowls a while ago because they remind me so much of fall with the shafts of wheat on the sides and the rich Fall colors. I found this entire set this morning for 12.95!

I am about to start making new garden totems and I found these cute little birds sitting on nests which will work perfectly with the designs I have in mind. 99 cents each. The thrift stores are really bare here right now so I was thrilled to find things I rarely come across.

Well I have seen Curry Ketchup here too, but nothing of the rest You show today. I don´t think we have flavored syrup over here, to be honest we have very few syrup´s at all.

Have a great day now!

I'm definitely getting that curry ketchup and that Worcestershire sauce. YUM! Now that all of our ice melted down here, I'm wanting to get back to cooking.
Love the Pyrex bowl set! Great price on them. I will be looking for some of these condiments for sure.

The wreath you made is just beautiful. What great thrift store finds. I need some more pyrex bowls myself and never thought of looking there.

Sneaking on at work. Have you posted your ketchup recipe? If so I'll look in the archives for it. This weekend we were at Dennigers, a British food market and I tried Curry Ketchup oh my it was lovely. My parents used to can their own ketchup, and I remember it had a real horseradish flavour.

And I forgot to say how much I love the Cinderella pyrex bowls. I have a few, and sadly broke my fav. last year. It shattered into a million pieces, but I always keep my eye out for another.
