Anonymous

The Blog Tech slept past his alarm today and was late for an appointment so we are taking the day off from our regular posts. However, I am going to take this time to address the comments I have been receiving from ANONYMOUS people recently. I blog to have fun. I don't consider my blog to be a cooking blog though I do cook a lot. I post whatever I am up to each day. If I see a recipe I want to try and I make it, I post it. I usually tweak recipes as do most people. I feel a blog should represent who we really are and not who we want to be. I am very honest on my blog. If you don't like it/me, simply don't visit my blog. And please stop being so gutless as to leave anonymous comments. In other words, stop being petty.

My tolerance for people that want me to be exactly like they are and do things exactly as they do is nonexistent.

Here is just one recent example of what I am talking about:

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Just When You Thought You Had Escaped The Royal Ho...":

I am a Canadian and yes, I have a good sense of humor but I am offended with your coverage of the royal wedding. Regardless of how we respect or disrespect others, I feel that your comments were tasteless. I wonder if you give the same type of commentary when you have a White House social affair, I am elderly and remember many times when I got tired hearing about them but I would never publicly make a mockery of those involved.

I mean.....REALLY????

And for the record, I don't think you have as good a sense of humor as you think you do.

See the rest of you tomorrow!

Comments

It would be too much to be just like others, and give up all your own special traits and gifts. I thought your post funny, and still respectful because it was all tongue in cheek. Thank you for being you.

This is why there is comment moderation...
Why do you allow Anon Comments?

I don't.

Even though our Blog Names can be totally false... But... At least, our Blog Names are click-able links, connected to our blog, and we can be accessed there.

I have no use for the *need* to go Anon. People who don't have blogs, who comment in my blog, have made a Blogger Profile page, and I can know who they are.

Of course, I don't allow Anon comments, so they'd have to, hu? :-)

~♥~

Excuse my rant, in your comments.

It's awful that someone just rants that way. If you don't like the posts you see, you can just stop following the blog, or leave it as it is. Doing this anonymus is not the thing to do. Put your name under the things you write, or don't comment !!!
I think you have a great sense of humour !!
Have a great day and don't let this work you up too much. It's simply not woth it !!

I love your blog, your photos, your cooking, your crafts, your decorating, your house, your family, your creativity, your humor. I never comment on a blog that I don't care for, and never return to that blog. WHat would be the point of a negative or insulting comment? Time is better well spent reading what you like and enjoy. Spreading rude and needless comments around the blog world is simply ridiculous. It is a shame that you have to put up with that.

I´m so glad that You are like You are :-) and writes like You do! So continue to do what You do!

I never care about totally anonymous and rude comments. If they doesn´t dare telling who they are they don´t exist to me.

Have a great day now!

I agree Miss Canadian has no sense of humor.

I understand why she left that comment as annon as imagine the feedback she would get on her blog....

Some people really need to get a life.

Not all anonymus comments are good, sadly, and I received my fair share of trolls since I started blogging. I cannot believe someone got offended by this. I live in England and over the years, I posted a few borderline "seditious" comments about the monarchy. I find it a living anachronism, barely younger than the dinosaurs. Now your post was very nice towards them I think.
Oh dear, I suspect Anonymous was especially upset because you impugned Prince Harry's parentage! People can get surprisingly touchy about that. Personally, I don't allow anonymous comments on my blog, plus I also moderate comments. If someone doesn't have the guts to identify themselves, they don't get to comment on my blog.

I agree with Robin. .why spend time reading blogs that don't bring you some measure of pleasure?

I was very interested in the royal wedding and found your comments hilarious! I didn't think they were disrespectful. Keep being so funny, we all need a good laugh! I even showed it to my husband who never looks at my blogs! He laughed out loud!

I love your blog just the way it is. To hell with the cowards that don't have the nerve to reveal their names if they are going to make rude comments. Your comments of the royal wedding were funny and entertaining.

Anonymous is a cover for people too chicken to post their real names so they can take a swipe at you. Ignore them please -I love your blog and look forward to it every day. Stay true to yourself - I know you will

Keep doing what you do. (You do it very well!) Ignore the comments of the minor few who make it their aim to make negative comments about any and everything.
I hate anonymous critical comments as I think they are cowards. I like that everyone is different. How boring if we were all the same. I totally agree...if you don't like my blog or me then don't come here! I keep coming to your blog because I do like you!!

I think I'm going to look at my settings and make sure anon isn't available. Every once and awhile I'll read a post out there about rude or obnoxious readers and it boggles my mind how people will assume ownership over something that is in fact a gift. We have to blog as our hearts will us to, and not conform in this space, which should be as real for the [us!] authors as possible.

Happy May Day! Lois, another Canadian not as stuffy.

I love your blog Jaz, it's real and homely and Teddy is just adorable.

I'm British and I loved the Royal wedding and did my own heartfelt post about it, but I still love the one you made. It was funny, and quite spot on with some things :)

People should not take life so seriously, it isn't permanent.

I have comment moderation on mine, if people can't be bothered to leave their moniker or be polite they just get deleted and don't see the light of day.
i love you and your blog and teddy.....it's a special part of my day to come and visit Octoberfarm....

What a bummer. I wander through blogs for my enjoyment. If I don't like the content I move on. It is not my place to comment on how others think. A blog is a personal thing. That is what makes this world great. We are all individuals with our own humor and what we feel is important. I love your blog. Keep up the good work.

oh for petes sake .. dont give this poster a second thought..

I totally agree with your statement
"My tolerance for people that want me to be exactly like they are and do things exactly as they do is nonexistent."

I am pretty sure we all put our pants on the same way... I don't see anyone whether its our government or someone else's any more than human beings. I know a lot don't see it like this. People get over impressed with movie stars or government or what ever... to me we are all just people. No one and I don't care who they are is any more or less than another human. We are all people, all human So when someone sets themselves up to be "more" than that...

Well anyway no worries and if they don't like your blog then just don't read it would be my thinking LOL. My goodness there are millions of blogs, read the ones that you like. :O)...

Oh and I barely have time to get a post up, I got rid of the word verification on my blog because I hate that thing it slows me down so bad when I am trying to quick leave a comment on others blog. So ya I get some wacko comments too, most are caught by the spam filter on blogger. If not well okay fine.

Just continue on girly...no worries! :O)

lol what on earth does that line I'm a canadian mean ? !
and why are we canadians offended ?
I guess it must be my lack of awareness setting in again , ds10 diagnosed me with that the other day ☺
okay Jaz I just totally forgot about the whole wedding thing til I woke up at 8am and went to my fb page !
not surprising from a gal who chose to nurse her new born babe instead of watching the last royal wedding ! I can say I've cousins in Okalhoma who would think I'm being offensive ;-) I do not get why people are so gung ho about a family who still gets a tax collection from the people just because .
so you and my dh would have a hoot. he watched the wedding later that day with ds10 , he provided commentary the whole event . there was a chihuahua biting the heels of the bride , the queen had cooked all the food and threatened to chop off heads if it was not enjoyed , I turned my ears off after I heard the word shotgun .
I love the Jaz that you are ;-)
seeing your life & your passions etc.
take care lots of love from one Caanadian who is happy to not comment anonymous lol my dh is such a smartass I asked him how to spell anonymous his respoce mickey mouse ;-)

I don't think I have mine set up to allow anonymous comments. But when you get blog comments you don't like, "delete" "delete" "delete"! sometimes I think they thrive on seeing how you respond and they probably love it when it creates drama. I'm not sure how one would feel that they could comment on ones blog entry words when their own words were tasteless. But go figure. lol

I've had my share of these, too, and I find it sad when people have to express their opinions by hiding behind a cloud of anonymity! I have several British friends who would look at your post and think you've made their day - you certainly made mine! Life is about having a sense of humor - I hope she reads these comments and has egg on her face!
Cheers!

I, too, moderate all comments on my blog. Out here on the world wide web...you never know who is going to come stalking by......I thought your post was very funny....and yes....we do on occasion make fun of those in our White House....SO THERE!! LOL LOL

Hey that person gives the rest of us Canadians a bad name. Please don't judge the rest of us by one stupid person. I thought your post was very funny and I'm sure the rest of us Canadians did too. So a big old BOOO to Anonymous!

People love to talk big and bad....as long as they can do so while hiding behind anonymity. Most of the mean, hateful comments I've gotten have been from people too cowardly to give their names. It seems to me like, if you're willing to say something unpleasant to somebody else, you ought to at least have the guts to be open about it. I don't have much time or respect for cowards.

First I too am Canadian. Took your post as humour , maybe the Harry comment was a bit edgy.. he is a fav of mine.. love bad boys.
I don't know what the other Anon comments are you have gotten but I tend to think if you can't use your blog name and comment nicely then I ignore. Sometimes I do disagree but everyone is entitled to voice their opinion on their blog, that is what it is for..
I too moderate comments on my blog.

feh! if canada is offended by such mild remarks as yours she might have a fatal stroke at what some of the u.k. papers say! as for me, i was impressed with how you posted the photos to your blog so quickly. i'm with much of this group: time to do away with
'anon'.
ditto, ditto, ditto...you just blog on and ignore those old biddies, bitties, boofuses, whatever! :))
I love this. I wish I could get someone pissed off enough to write an anonymous comment on my blog. Girlfriend you have hit the big time. I love it!

Just point me in their direction and I'll put a spell on her, Jaz!Why is it when someone s''''s on you, they have to also let you know that they have a sense of humor or it's constructive criticism? I'm sure there's a special place in Hell for people like that, mean-spirited, nasty, little people, that have to say something hurtful to feel better about themselves. Don't you change a thing about your blog. As I said, just point me in the direction... and my little black cauldron and I will take care of it. Grrr.

Sorry to hear about the negative comment. Those are never pleasant and in the end we blog for the enjoyment of it. I have tried to let anonymous comments several times on my blog. (Only because I want people to be able to comment or enter a giveaway even if they don't have a blogger account) BUT every time I do it does not take long to start getting lots and lots of spam comments. It does not take me long to get fed up and close down anonymous comments again. Don't let it get to you though, you have a wonderful blog and I enjoy reading it very much!
