The Best Crabmeat You Will Ever Eat

My friend Bev at beverlysbackporch gave me this recipe and I am eternally indebted to her. I told her I owe her my first born child so I will be shipping the Blog Tech off to her. I'll miss him but he is a fair trade for this crab recipe.

Bev said to follow the recipe EXACTLY. I listen to everything Bev says so I did it exactly the way she said to. Almost.

First, dice an onion. Place half of it in the bottom of a bowl or glass container.

Place a can of lump crab meat on top of the onion.

Top with the other half of the diced onion. Sprinkle with cracked black pepper and sea salt. This is where I cheated, I added some chopped fresh tarragon. Please Bev, forgive me.

Pour 4 ounces of vegetable oil over the layers. Do Not Use Olive Oil! That is Bev yelling through me!

Pour 3 ounces of cider vinegar over it next. Cider Vinegar!!! Shut up Bev!

Pour 4 ounces of COLD water over the top. Pipe down Bev in my head! Cover and chill overnight or for 8 hours. DO NOT STIR!!! Yes ma'am!

When you are ready to serve it, Gently Turn Over the Mixture...yes ma'am again!

I can't begin to tell you how delicious this is. Run out and buy some lump crab meat and make this now!!! And make sure you remember all of Bev's instructions or she might come and get you!!!

This looks SO good, and it is SO simple!
I'm not sure how the Blog Tech is going to feel, being traded for a recipe though. .although I'm sure that Bev will feed him well, too! However, since you didn't follow her recipe to the exact letter, does that mean that she gets your daughter now too? And I notice that you didn't offer Teddy in exchange for the recipe!!

Hmmm, now. .do I add the Tarragon, and risk the wrath of Bev, or face Joyce. . .
whoa now...look at this....what a winner...i am getting in the car RIGHT NOW !!! i am heading to the grocery....and getting C.R.A.B. !!!

how does the Blog Tech like living at bev's?????? i bet he misses you.....

:-)
You are a scream. I'm so proud of you! You did it just right. That water has to be ice cold for some reason. I forgot to tell you, you can use shrimp in place of the crab, but I like the crab best.

Can't wait for the Blog Tech to get here. I'm make sure he emails often and visits twice a year.

LOL!! Good-bye Blog Tech! I was going to say that if I liked crab I would make this, and then lo and behold the incomparable Bev says you can use SHRIMP! WOOT! Sounds great for a hot summer evening dinner.

Well I do hope I still can read his blog though :-) :-)

I love crab and if my memory is kind to me I´ll buy some and make this this weekend!

Have a great day!
Christer.
Sounds like Bev is a wonderful cook, so the Blog Tech should be happy there.
You are correct, I just make this right away! I love crab meat!

Happy day!

Hmmm, I left a message yesterday, and it must still be floating around in cyberspace. I won't repeat myself, but know that this is a "must try" recipe, and the Blog Tech will be missed!

Giving this another try. When I made at Thanksgiving, used crabmeat which had been frozen and the consistency was weird. Should be delicious this time!
