It's All About Pumpkins Today!

Look what I found today!!! Could you hear me screaming from where you live? I was so excited! They are only pie pumpkins, but they will do and I know the big ones are about to appear. I leave for the Country Living Fair tomorrow with The Blog Tech so I am sure we will find more of these along the way! We will keep you posted with lots of photos!

And what a coincidence, I had just made pasta with a sage pumpkin sauce. This is a great recipe and I am sure kids will love it too.

Saute' a large diced onion in a few tablespoons of butter.

Add some cracked black pepper and sea salt.

Stir in a good handful of diced sage.

Sprinkle with 3 tablespoons of flour and stir for a couple minutes then add about 4 cups of milk.

Grate in a bit of nutmeg.

Once you see the sauce thickening, stir in 1/2 to 1 cup of pumpkin puree. Taste as you add the pumpkin to determine how much pumpkin flavor you want. I used 3/4 cups and next time I will add 1 cup.

Remove the sauce from the heat. You can continue to add pumpkin if you want more of a pumpkin flavor.

Boil some spiral pasta. You can use whatever pasta you want but spiral pasta really picks up and holds the sauce.

What a great way to start celebrating Fall. Make sure to sprinkle a little Parmesan cheese on it too!

But these are better! Don't worry little pie pumpkins! I won't eat you. That would be cannibalism!

I don´t think You would like my country :-) Pumpkins are almost not existing here :-) :-) :-) The closest we come is squash really even if some of us (not this year for me though) grows them ourselves.

Have a great day!

I'm so excited about this time of year. It's my absolute favorite. I can't wait to go out and get pie pumpkins this weekend. Yum and fun all in one! :-)

Your recipe looks like it is just so incredibly good. I'm running downstairs right now to see if I have everything I need for it in the cupboards and fridge. I do have fresh herbs and the sage is growing like wildfire this year. Thanks for this post. You saved a dull and dreary evening of the same old thing for dinner and made it into a wonderful taste sensational event!

Brightest Blessings,

How exciting! Alas, our little pumpkin vines have only 3 small pumpkins on them. But, hay, at least there are some. The pumpkin pasta dish looks wonderful. I love anything with sage. Happy trip! Can't wait to see pictures and what you come home with! :)
