Chili

I've shown this recipe before but it is good enough to post again and perhaps some of you missed it last time. I never really make it the same way twice so this is a bit different than the last one.

Dice about 6 stalks of celery.

Then two medium onions.

Two green peppers.

And two poblano peppers.

Saute' these in some olive oil.

Add 2 pounds of ground beef.

Three tablespoons of cumin.

Three tablespoons of granulated garlic and 3 tablespoons of onion powder.

Add 4 tablespoons of chili powder. I also added 4 tablespoons of Caboom which you can order online.

Two large cans of crushed tomatoes.

Three cups of tomato juice.

A couple tablespoons of cracked black pepper and 2 teaspoons of salt.

And a few teaspoons of your favorite hot sauce. This is hands down my favorite one....Gator Hammock. It's not too hot but has tons of flavor.

I decided to add some hominy to my chili! It's just a little different touch but very good.

Add a can of drained black beans.

Add a can of pinto and butter beans too.

Stir it around and taste it. Adjust the seasoning.

I thought it needed more of a tomato flavor so I added a can tomato paste. Cover it and place it in a 325 degree oven for an hour or so.

Make some cranberry cornbread. Type it in my search bar to get the recipe.

Yum!

I like to serve it with shredded cheddar and diced onions. And top it with fresh cilantro.

And serve it with the cornbread!

wow, thats some chili, I love the addition of different beans,,, you know I have saw that hot sauce on the Anmerican side,, (when we go cross border shopping) they have it in Glen's Market.I will have to give it a try,, I preferr the taste of peppers but not the blaring hotness. This corn bread is beautiful,, I have never saw it with cranberries but thats sounds wonderful,, would be yummy with cheddar.

You have the sexiest condiments!
I made a batch of this on Friday and it was gone by Sunday. I love the Caboom, but I use a lot more than you. I hate to tell you but only 3 people were eating it. It is goood! I will have to try the Cranberry Cornbread this weekkend for our church soup/chili supper.
