New York Day 2

Please accept my apologies for not posting yesterday. I've been fighting off a cold since before I got here, and friday evening it got a bit worse; I thought it best to sleep in, and didn't actually leave the hotel until around 4 p.m., far past the typical post time. But don't worry; I now have quite the backlog of photos for you all to check out! This post's photos are culled from this past friday.

This is me in between coughs and now 28 years old!

This is Greene street in Manhattan. There is a very nice hair salon here, as well as several boutiques, and Lara likes these types of places quite a bit.

Here Lara is now, albeit looking downward because the sun (or Day Ball, as she calls it) is at a particularly blinding angle here.

a shot of an apartment building on Greene St.

I did not realize this city is so puppy-friendly. Not only do many people have dogs, but one will frequently see them in stores! And not just markets, either; I saw two people with their puppies shopping in Saks Fifth Avenue!

A man and his dog.

Sugar Skulls in a storefront window on Prince St.

A shot down Bowery as we wait for a bus to take us to Dim Sum!

Chinatown!
Chinatown!
Chinatown!
Now you know how to spell Western Union in Mandarin Chinese.
Yet more Chinatown!

from a bakery in Chinatown. These things are so fun to look at; I don't know if I want to eat them or play with them.

We ended our evening at the Brooklyn Academy of Music Cafe to see Manorexia. What a beautiful place to see avant-garde modern classical music!

Tomorrow I will conclude the photos of the New York trip, featuring New York as it gets ready for Christmas. As a teaser, here is a picture from a Macy's window showing a particularly Steam Punk-ish take on the Christmas season.
They assure me this is Christmas-related!

I like seeing these photographs from New York! Especially Green street.
But I have to admit that I can't see much christmas in that last photograph :-) :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

I love Chinatown in NY. I haven't been there in so long but there is nothing like dinner in Chinatown and dessert in Little Italy.

It looks like you are having a great birthday vacation.

I think that I would find it difficult to eat a cupcake while it's smiling at me.
I am totally mad about the dog in a sweater. Posh!

The Brooklyn Academy of Music Cafe, this would be so fun.

Never been to China Town anywhere. Maybe some day. I'm with you on the desserts.

The streets in your photos seem clean. This surprised me for some reason.

Thank you for sharing.
P.S.:

Where are my manners? I do hope you feel better.
