Barbeque Sliders

I saw this recipe on Ree Drummond's the other day and just had to try them. These are killer good sliders.

Season some small patties generously with salt and pepper and granulated garlic.

Brown them in a hot skillet quickly on each side. Use a couple tablespoons of butter. Remove them and set aside on a plate.

Make sure they have a nice brown crust but do not over cook them.

Add 1 large diced onion and a few chopped jalapenos to the leftover grease. I used the "tamed" jalapenos so they would not be spicy. It is up to you! cook these until they begin to brown.

Add 1/4 cup of rum or whiskey and cook until the alcohol has burned off.

Add 1 cup of barbecue sauce. Mix it in and continue to simmer.

Butter some slider rolls and sprinkle them with garlic salt. Broil until the edges become golden.

Mmmm.....smelling very good about now!

Return the burgers to the pan along with any juices on the plate.

Cover them with the onion sauce and remove from the heat.

Place them on the buns and spoon some extra sauce over them. I served them with my refrigerator pickles. You might want to double this recipe. These are an instant hit!

I Hope You Are Having A Very Happy New Year!

We have an varietyb of this over here but I can't remember any whiskey or rum in ours :-) Love it though and it's great to have as a sort of snack in the evening looking at a good movie :-)

Have a great continuing of this new year my friend!

I saw these on Ree's blog the other day and marked them to try. They do look like the best ever. On my list for this week.

These look great! I had some sliders at a New Years Eve party that were fried chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy. Messy but were they good!
