Teddy is Feeling Better

Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes for Teddy. She is improving and hopefully we can put this all behind us. A strange chain of events led us to all of this. First she had the operation for entropion. Chows eyelids have a tendency to turn inward and then their lashes scratch their eyes. Teddy had been having eye discharge and the vet told us this was the problem. Immediately after her first surgery, she had more heavy discharge. We took her back to the vet and they said she needed more surgery. Huh? So, we had a second surgery done. She now has to have eye drops twice a day. The eye drops make her eyes wet and she develops bacterial infections around her eyes. So, she needs antibiotics to keep them at bay. The antibiotics killed off her good bacteria and she developed a raging fungal infection. Now she is taking anti-fungal meds. I am not sure how this will all turn out but it sure has been a long haul.

I was trying to get her to smile for the camera but she was not cooperating.

Come on Teddy, smile for the camera. Guess that is not happening! Then I thought of how to get her attention.

Just yell.....Bad Kitties!!!

Teddy springs into action.

She is a blur as she speeds by the camera!

Super puppy flies into action.

Teddy needs a cape.

I haven't showed any DIY projects for quite a while. I bought this table at a thrift shop for 5.00. A bit if sanding and a can of spray paint and.....

...it becomes a nice little end table in the TV room.

I'm so glad Teddy is better! I feel your pain with regards to big-city living. At least you live in the East and have seasons and snow.

I think the Farm cats are very glad that Teddy is far, far away.

We are all glad that she is feeling better so far, far away. ;)
Teddy is such a love. She makes my day! Love the table. I have one I should finish like that.

I'm so glad Teddy is better :-) But I really think a vet should be able to assume this might happen to her!

I mean if the antibiotics is that strong he should have understood that she more easily could other kinds of infections!

Nice table!
Have a great day!
Christer.

What a find. A $5 table. It looks marvelous. You really did I a GREAT job with it. Poor Teddy. All those infections from her eyes. I hope she is on the mend soon. Was tickled to see her spring into action at the mention of bad kitties. A superdog, indeed. Take care.
You know, I'm wondering if holistic care for doggies, of some sort might help Teddy. She is to cut going after the "bad" kitties.

So happy she is feeling better, I continue to remember her sweet self.

Lovely Gold end table, another "find" for the "Thrift Queen".

happy day.

I am happy to hear the news about Teddy!:)

When I opened blogspot blog list, this pic of her showed up, in a tiny image, and my daughter, who is only 18 mths old, immediately poined at her saying "Vava!" (meaning dog, because the Hungarian dogs say vau-vau).

Perhaps Teddy needs some yogurt to re-establish her gut flora. Poor girl.

Poor Teddy! She is so cute! VERY GLAD she is on the mend. I had no idea about the eyelash issue. I am going to tell my sister about it. But Roxy seems ok, she has a different sort of Chow face. Anyway, so happy Teddy is getting relief, she has been through a lot.

LOVE the table. Great idea! You are so clever!

What a cute ball of fluff she is. I sympathize with Teddi and eye issues. Drops are not fun. I had a bad intestinalbug for four days and was wondering if the Pred Forte (prednisone) eye drops had anything to contribute. Pharmacist says no, but.... hope everything works out for her. She is too cute and sweet to be hurting. xo

That Teddy is a whirling dervish! Hard to tell the front end from the back in those pix! My friend gives her dog a spoonful of yogurt everyday. I have been thinking I might do that for my doggies too. Something to ask the vet about. Hope the bad stuff stays away from Teddy from now on!! Maybe she will let you take her to the groomers now.

I'm so glad Teddy is better. I don't know you, but I worried about Teddy and know how it breaks your heart when the pup is sick. The table is lovely, too!

I do hope Teddy feels better soon. It is very difficult to watch a pet being ill.

I too am very happy that Teddy is feeling better. I just hate it when our precious pups are hurting. I gotta tell you, when you said bad kitty and Teddy went into action, I actually laughed out loud. She is funny!! Your table is fabulous. You really impress me, honestly.

I agree with Christer, the vet should have been aware of what problems would arise. But, this will come to an end, I know. Been there and it seems like forever; but, it does end.

Love the table find.
