Spaghetti alle Vongole

Spaghetti alle Vongole
My husband loves the dish so I made it for him yesterday on his birthday.

This is my new favorite thing in the entire world.  LOL butter with sea salt and olive oil. I hope they come out with other new flavors.

I grated about 8 cloves of garlic for this recipe.

Melt 1/4 stick of butter with 3 T. of olive oil in a pot.

Add 1 large sliced onion and sprinkle with lots of pepper and some salt.

Add a small bottle of white wine with your club.  Add 2 cups of chicken stock.

Add the garlic and whisk it around over medium heat.

I like to add some really smokey sausage or tasso but you can skip this step if you wish.

Add some chopped fresh parsley.

Toss the clams in and cover the pot.

They are ready in about 5 minutes when all the clams have opened.

Boil some spaghetti in salted water until al dente.

Serve in a shallow bowl and ladle some of the sauce over it.

One of my favorites too but the hubby is severely allergic to clams so....
OMG! This would be my most favorite meal on earth. I have not seen the LOL garlic and olive oil butter. I hope I'm still alive when it makes it to Kentucky. What a great dish.

Gosh, I haven't seen that butter here, yet, either. But, definitely going to make this, this weekend! Fresh clams from my fish monger at the Market and wine from the Winery and then I have to think about sharing it... still thinking... Love the club! Very chic!
