End Of Summer 2012

*  Tomorrow is Kary's memorial for those of you who wanted to light a candle and send good energy to her husband.  He invited only family and her best friend Julie.  He invited me and my husband but since Teddy would not let anyone else watch her, we could not go. The family will be arriving at 2:00 and the memorial time is set for 4:00 Pacific Time.  I will be lighting a candle and sending lots of energy to John and hope that the Bad Ones don't crash the service. I sure miss her.

Though the weather does not indicate it, summer is winding down here.  Please someone, send me some cool weather.

Teddy wants cool weather too.  She is more fed up with this heat than I am.

My mini Alpines sure don't know they are supposed to be mini.

Almost time to close the pool.  I keep saying that but now I really mean it.

Thanks to a sprinkler system, my grass is not brown.

This is Teddy talking to me.

I know exactly what she wants too.  Isn't it funny how our pets talk to us?

I cut these hydrangeas way back just a short while ago and they have already put out all of these new leaves.

The back flower bed.  I am anxious to see what comes back in these beds next year.

My little potted garden continues to grow though it is looking like it is low on nutrients.

I am still getting Itchiban eggplants.

And look at the crazy lemongrass and peppers.  They sure liked growing together this year.

You need to click to enlarge this but this is what Teddy wanted me to do.  Take her down to the lower gardens.  Our little daily ritual!

I am going to light a candle for Kary. She must have been very special to be loved like this. A good friend is indeed a blessing.

Your garden still looks lovely and boy, would I love a dip in the pool. Still warm here too, really no signs of fall. Does Teddy take a dip ever? :) xo

First I must say how much I enjoy your lovely blog. From your recipes to adventures with Teddy and seeing your lovely home and gardens is a blogger's delight. I purchased a special candle in honor of Kary. I never met Kary in person, however, through blogging and e-mails I considered her a kindred spirit. May she rest in peace. Hugs from Maine, Julie.

And here I thought Teddy wanted to go for a swim. HOT is back here too. But I'm decorated for autumn and hoping cooler temps prevail. Your garden looks GORGEOUS. Lush and inviting. I will light a pumpkin candle(because of her love of the season)in honor of your friend tomorrow. May she rest in peace and have no uninvited guests trample on her service. take care.

You can count on my candle too for Kary and her husband tomorrow.

I know you want cool weather, me too. 87 degrees at 8:00 pm tonight, ugh.

Teddy is a funny sweet thing.
A lovely visit today. Love the last photo best.

xoxo to Teddy

I will remember Kary especially tomorrow with the lighted candle and good energy and remembrances of her and Teddy Boy and kitties.

Special comfort for her husband John and family.

I feel losses so much more these day.

Your garden looks as beautiful as always!

We're having a chilly morning here and I've started two radiators just to make it a bit nicer indoors. I doubt I'll get another ripe tomato it's just too cold at nights now.

Christer.
Again, sad for you, about the loss of your close blogging friend. A hole, which can't be filled.

But the memories! You have lovely memories. She can always be with you, in those. She can live on, in that way.

Gentle hugs,
"Auntie"
Your garden is lovely. It's still looking very happy, at the end of summer.

I know, you want Autumn to come.

But tell us Joyce, you had fun with summer growing, didn't you? Hmmmm... Didn't you? :-) Not fun with the awful heat. But fun with keeping all that beauty going, IN SPITE of the ding-dang-heat. :-))))

Pool... Labor Day... It will close... Here. ,-)

3 PM in Alaska is 4 PM Pacific Time. At 3 PM I will take a moment and send good thoughts for Kari's memorial. I may be out and about at that time but will stop and send good good thoughts.....

and sadly, summer is winding down here too. When I am up in the wee morning hours helping Halle outside that nip is in the air. You would love to feel it. Will send you some as well.
