A Blogging Break

Hi everyone. I am taking a break from blogging for a couple reasons.  I have so much to do in so little time in the next few weeks that I need to devote a lot of time and energy to get it all done.  Also, I got very sad news about Bev.  They have stopped the chemo because it was not working.  They are still deciding whether they will give her a feeding tube or not.  They are sending her home on Thursday to spend her last bit of time in her own home with her beloved animals.  I still can't believe how fast this has happened.  Bev's niece keeps me informed of her condition (thank you Angie!).  I feel so helpless being so far away.  Bev is such a special friend and I miss her so much.  She has given me so many precious recipes that I will always treasure.  I just need some time to make sense of all of this.

take care dear friend, my thoughts are with you as they are with Bev.
Completely understandable...

I hope your coming being-busy-with-event-preparations, will help you get through the sadness...

Gentle hugs,
"Auntie"

So sorry to hear this news of your dear friend. Illness has a way putting life and priorities into a different perspective. I know every family has to make their own decisions, but I hope they don't do the feeding tube. Having seen chronically ill people in my own life go with and without it, I can only say that those who refused it had a more comfortable passing. I wish you and her family the best possible outcome in all matters.

So sorry to hear about your friend. I've experienced the same with a dear Yahoo friend. One day she told me she was diagnosed with liver cancer and three weeks later she was gone. My heart reaches out to you.

I will continue to pray for Bev. What awful, awful news. I just cannot believe it. Even though I only know Bev via her blog and yours she and I made a connection.

I wish we could all just gather together for a group hug and cry.

I understand completely Joyce. We will still be here. Much love to you. And especially to Bev.
This is such sad news. Keeping Bev and you in my thoughts.

I am so sorry about Bev. It's so hard to get this kind of news that appears to be 'sudden,' only to find a dear one has been battling alone. Please know that my heart and prayers are with you and Bev's family during this time and your break. I've had to take a break, myself, because of a similar situation and blogging had to take a back seat. I didn't know Bev, personally, but loved her humor, blog, and cherish her recipes.

I second Ashling...plus, take what joy you can find in this season & enjoy. Sometimes, there is no making sense of it, just that Time can be far too short. Swift journey, Bev!

I "met" Bev through your blog, she emailed me with a recipe for a veggie burger. We just clicked, and every Sunday a.m. I'd have breakfast with Bev, reading her beautiful Sunday posts. So many of those posts touched my heart, I used to tease her that she was writing it just for me to read! I really miss her. I am rather in shock myself as to all this going on in such a short time. I can just imagine how you must feel....I am keeping both of you in my prayers. All I think about is how Bev cooked and canned up a storm this past summer, leaving her family a legacy of good food. So sad. xo

I am so sorry - I had a dear friend that I lost, too, so know the pain. Good thoughts to Brv.
Don't forget to take care of yourself, too, but I have a feeling taking care of yourself means taking care of others!
I will so miss your posts, but understand, and hope to see you back sometime.
