A Walk in the Lower Gardens

I am back.  Bev is home surrounded by friends, wrapped in some scarves I knitted and her pups are sleeping on top of her.  I miss her like crazy but I am so happy she is where she wants to be right now. Life goes on.

Teddy and I went down to look at the lower gardens.  I have been so busy that I hadn't been down there in a while.  I was surprised to see how bare it is.

The creek beds are dry and filled with leaves.

The witch hat shows up much better now that the leaves have fallen.

Autumn flowering clematis still puts on a show even when the blooms are gone.

The ferns are still full of life.  We are having another very warm and dry Fall.

The ponds are low and the water is dark.  Perfect for Teddy to drink from.  Like a fine aged wine, Teddy prefers the murky winter water!

I love the way the Katsuras look without leaves.

The fish have not hibernated yet.

Here she comes.

Plowing through the fallen leaves.

Heading to the pond.

A little shaking first.

Then she drinks from the concentrated fish pond.  Yes Teddy, I am sharing your bad habits.

The Japanese Maples are some of the last trees to lose their leaves.

Time to head home.

It is a long climb for those little stocky legs.

But up she climbs.

Step by step, inch by inch.

Finally arriving at the upper garden.

And heading home for a nap!

But I have to admit that I would love to have Your weather :-) :-) :-)

So glad to see you post. Big hugs to you.

Love the pictures. Amazing to see the fish still have not hibernated. Teddy does look ready to head home for a nap!

It's been pouring here for two days and supposed to continue for the next week. The poor goats. They won't come out of the barn but hate staying in the barn.

I'm glad Bev is as at peace as she can be. My best friend here in Montana who over came non-Hodgkin's lymphoma 5 years ago now has breast cancer. You have to wonder why some people just keep getting hit.
You wore out Teddy! Better give her a treat.

I'm sure Bev feels all the love you put in each stitch, what a wonderful gift to give your friend,

Plowing through the leaves, Teddy looks like s/he's (I do keep forgetting which) a ship powering through high waves.

Your scarves are hugging Bev for you! I have been praying, and lighting candles, and talking nicely to My Father all on Bev's behalf. xo
A visit to your gardens is always a pleasure.

Teddy, bless her heart, knows her kingdom well. Bless your heart, you understand her, you are a good Momma to hooman and fur baby.

Have a good weeks end.

Sorry for the news of Bev's prognosis. She remains in my thoughts and prayers. I will visit her blog next.

Looking through my huge recipe box, I found a Christmas card from Kary, the one with a picture of her Teddy. I guess you know that set me back.

Take care of you.

Thank you and Teddy for the peaceful stroll. Pretty lower gardens! The colors are still pretty.

Thanks for the update on Bev. I have been thinking about her a lot. I don't know what to say. Nothing will make her better & I feel so very sad. Great comments from the readers. I think I will light a candle in support of her and everyone sending love her way.
It seems the best that can be, is... Concerning your friend. Sad, but true.

"Life goes on."

You are back. You seem to have come to terms with this sadness. For this I am grateful. I don't know her, but I do know you. My first concern, is with you.

Thank you for the lovely walk in your Lower Gardens... A peaceful little trek, for you and for Teddy and for us.
Christer is ahead of you..he has snow! I have heard there is some unseasonable warming across the country while we are rainly and cloudy and cool. Certainly not cold. I remember a few years ago when Al Gore tried so hard to tell us about global warming and no one seemed to want to listen. Just in my lifetime I has seen such changes in the weather..huge changes.
Your estate is always so much fun to walk through no matter the time of year. I've been with you through all the seasons now and waiting for the first good snow fall..Your photo's were so beautiful last year. I will always miss snow..

I hear about your dear friend and I know our family is in for a terrible ride. I just have no words..
I try to concentrate on the little things...it's really all we can do so we can put one foot in front of the other. I've walked the path and am walking it again..this time even worse...
Even on your walk I hear sadness in your words. It's a difficult time..
