Crack

When I was leaving the mission the other day, a cute young guy very sheepishly asked me if I also bake.  I took this as a request and since I had to run there yesterday, I made a bunch of batches of crack.  I've posted this before, but for those who missed it, this is really good stuff.  I don't really consider this baking but I had the ingredients and you can easily make large quantities of this quickly.  And I know, I shouldn't be taking crack to homeless people.  However, when I told them what it was called, they all thought it was hysterical and as I left they were all yelling back and forth...."we have crack".
Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray and cover it with unsalted matzoh crackers.

Melt 2 sticks of butter with 1 cup of light brown sugar.

Bring it to a boil and boil it for 3 minutes.  Do not stir.  Pour it over the crackers and place it in a 350 degree oven and bake it for 15 minutes.

As soon as you remove it from the oven, sprinkle it with 2 cups of chocolate chips.  Let it sit for 5 minutes.

You can see the chips melting.

Spread the chocolate over the top.

I made some with a mix of chocolate and peanut butter chips.

Some were sprinkled with chopped nuts.

I did one pan with white chocolate chips.

After they cool, crack them into pieces.

Here is a funny story.  I saw this one old guy.  He did not look too good.  He had no teeth and probably has done more than his share of meth for one lifetime.  I asked him if he tried a piece.  He said he had but he threw it out when he saw it had nuts on it.  I asked him if he was allergic to nuts.  He said no, his doctor told him they weren't good for him!

I did wonder when I read the headline :-) :-) :-) This crack may be addictive too but so much better for the brain :-) :-) :-)

It's never to late to start thinking about what's good for You, is it :-) :-) :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

Oh, I thought it was a different sort of crack. In Québec we call them "trottoirs".

You are such a blessing to these people! And you inspire the rest of us to reach out and do a little good in our corner of the world too. So thanks for that! Have a wonderful Tuesday my friend!

That is so funny - nuts not good for him. I wonder if he has that, oh crap I can't think of the name of it now where you can't eat nuts and seeds.

How funny! You must have laughed all the way home! My neighbor makes it and sends it to us but she uses saltine crackers. I am going to try your way. She calls it "crackle".

I hope the young guy got some of the goodies you brought! I love that they're made with matzo crackers.

I could seriously develop a crack habit if some pans of that were around!

I had a neighbor who had Divetitalitus (mis spelled I think) and her doctor told her to stop eating nuts. The nuts get into the pockets in the colon and irratate it.

That last story is hilarious. I love that a guy came up to ask you if you baked. This stuff does look and sound exactly like crack - you'll just want more and more! I'll have to make some to try and I think it's awesome for gifts.
