KFC Cole Slaw Recipe

Does anyone have this big Cuisinart food processor?  I am completely frustrated with it.  I liked it when I first got it but am not too pleased right now.  First, it does not chop things very well and leaves huge pieces.  But what is worse, the large bowl is like a double bowl which does not come apart. Water gets in it when you clean it and it takes days to dry out between the walls. I've written to Cuisinart but have received no response so far.  If you are thinking about buying one of these, hold off until I figure this out.

Here is a copycat recipe for KFC's cole slaw.  I like making different cole slaws to go with different dishes.  For instance, I would serve this as a side dish and not use it on pulled pork.  Shred a large head of cabbage into very small pieces, about the size of rice kernels. Shred several carrots and one onion too.

Mix it all together in a bowl with the dressing and refrigerate before serving.

The Dressing:

1/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. mayonnaise (not miracle whip)
1/4 c. buttermilk
1-1/2 T. white vinegar
2-1/2 T lemon juice

Whisk until blended and pour over cabbage.

The daily lovefest between a chow and her boy.

Slurp slurp slurp!

I kissed a boy and I liked it.

Comments

I have a new14 cup one & it's a little frustrating to use! There are so many safety checks in place it's ridiculous! Obviously these were designed by engineers & not home cooks!

Thanks for the recipe, your last slaw recipe was amazing!

Or is she taste testing?

I have a smaller cuisinart and it works fine. Everything comes apart but to honest I hardly use it. In the summer to make eggplant tapenade to can and occasionally for cole slaw.

How have I not seen your blog before. My goodness, look at all you have here. Fantastic.

I do fancy KFC slaw, but hardly ever am able to eat it. Too much crap. But your formula looks good.

Cheers and boogie boogie.

If you ever find the St-Hubert cole slaw recipe, with their dressing (not the cream dresing, the vinaigrette one), I would be eternally grateful.
OH, that last pic and words, are sooooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!!! -gigggles-

I don't have that style of food processor. Mine has been around since the eighties! Still plugging along!

Oh...your coleslaw looks delicious. I love those from KFC. Can't wait to give your recipe a try. I think I have the same food processor. I mainly use it for macaron making (to ground the almonds until they are almond meal/flour). So, I usually use the big bowl. I hardly use the small bowl that comes with it. But the top part and the insert portion does come apart and I can wash and dry separately. So, I'm wondering if we're talking about the same model (but they definitely look the same from the picture). Try to get on twitter with Cuisineart to get their attention. I saw they answer people's questions and concerns there before. Hope they are help you.
What a different side of Teddy! You can see the love all over her little face! She adores her boy, just adores him. Awwww...I love it!
And the cold slaw recipe. I immediately printed it. I can't wait to try it. Thanks so much Joyce.
