Flowering Vines

I am still planting.  It's hopeless, I am a plant addict.  I wanted some color in my outdoor dining room so I bought some flowering vines.  This is a climbing Black Eyed Susan.  This will climb to about 8 feet.

I bought 2 bougainvilleas. Both are red and I hope to train this one up towards my fireplace.

This is the side door to the guest house.  The 'New Dawn' roses are about to bloom.

When these doors are open, you can walk from the indoor dining room to the outdoor one.  The big lower pond with a waterfall is just off to the right so the sound is wonderful.  I love it in Fall when we have a fire roaring in the outdoor fireplace and you can hear the water running.

I am still working on painting the bistro set.  It is taking much more paint than I imagined it would.

This morning I realized I am painting the stone too.  Goof grief!

An old red rose blooming amongst the grapes.

My potting shed is back there in the middle.  It is covered in roses so you can hardly see it.

There are six different varieties of roses planted there.  I will make sure to take pics of it in total bloom.

This area has corn and zucchini planted along with red raspberries and another rose.

The Oak Leaf Hydrangeas are about to bloom.

The Mock Orange is dropping it's blooms into the upper pond.

The faithful pup is keeping a close eye on Broomhilde!  And she is waiting for mama.  Nice grass, eh?  More weeds than grass!

The clematis grows up through the climbing hydrangea.  I always plant different vines together for added interest.

Further elaboration on my plant addiction, I planted peppers in the planters by my pool.  I see dirt and I plant.

I planted my lettuces in this raised planter by my back door.  It has worked perfectly.  The lettuce thrives and it is right there for me to pick.

The Japanese Lilac is beginning to open.  And just after I finished watering for two hours this morning....it began to rain!!!  Water from the sky...a miracle!

I wish you could give me pointers to whip my yard in shape. Yours is beautiful. LOVE black eyed susans. They are the state flower in Maryland, my old stomping grounds.

Similar tastes here - my Black Eyed Susan plants just came up from seed and the bougainvillea I brought inside to winter over is back outside and doing well. Just bought a red rose yesterday, too. But we struggle here in the high desert to have the lushness that your gardens exude.

You know by now that I love Your garden! It's so beautiful! I always come to think of a tropical rain forest when I see photographs taken there.

I need more flowering climbers here and it's a great idea to plant two different together like You do! But I rarely buy any plants any longer because of the Spanish slug.

It eats everything and since it has no natural enemies here it multiplies abnormly. I know of gardeners that kill a tghousand every day and still there are just as many left. I don't have it here yet and many plants one buys from garden centers bring along either eggs or tiny slugs.

If I buy plants I do it via internet and from businesses I know are slug free :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

Joyce, it is just a pleasure to walk through your garden with you!

Do you ever sleep? I can't believe how much you do!!!

Hope you're not having the scorching weather we are!
Yea for you re rain, I know you have been wanting it. Your garden is looking wonderful and I've zoomed in on your Japanses Lilac - I've off to goggle that as I collect lilacs.
Oh I found some Okra seeds I can buy in NZ Green and purple ones which ones do you eat?
Love Leanne
That's wonderful that you are getting some rain. NONE for California. And the flooding that is going on in Oklahoma and some of those states ...terrible!

OH NO! Not the stones! That's why I paint OVER grass up on that rolling table. Grass grows out or you can cut it off...anyway... dang!
Will it wash off or will it have to wear off! I don't paint on the driveway ...always over the grass and way high! :)
Yep...it's going to be sooo pretty out there. I can see it already! :)
Got all my plants for another Fairy garden.. :) Are we having fun yet? :)

Yum! Your lettuce looks delicious! How is it cool enough for lettuce and warm enough for tomatoes in your same backyard?!

And if that is plaintain "weed" growing in your grass, you can eat it! It's a wild edible!
