After The Rains

We headed to the lower gardens early yesterday to check out the damage done from the very heavy rains.  The lower pond was overflowing.

It flooded out onto the patio.

 The vegetables loved the rain.

The corn did not fair too well.

It did not stop Teddy from self medicating.

She took a little bite here.

 Mmmmmm...sunflowers!

She did her best goat imitation.

Just a little off the edges.

Blue tongue alert!  Click to enlarge.

Nibble Nibble Nibble.....it makes my tummy feel better and stops the runny poops.

A large branch of the tomatilla broke but the tomatoes are rapidly ripening.  That's the phone I grew in my garden.

Enough sunflower eating for today.  Back home she goes.

Another shot of the Salem Witch Day Lily.

Lots of them are blooming now.
And the Oakleaf Hydrangeas continue to darken.

Sorry I am so late posting today but google gave me fits!

You'd be surprised how resilient corn is. We've had it flattened by storms and pop back up
Could you grow me a phone too? No kidding you've got a green thumb!

STILL chuckling over Teddy's best goat impression. To answer your question on my page.... THE CRAB PLACE. From their dock to your door. They're online.

The Salem Witch is beautiful! the hydrangeas too!
All that rain will save you from having to water..at least that's one good thing.
Where can I get one of those phone plants? :)
Everything looks beautifully green.
Saw Teddy's tongue! :)

So how do You grow phones? Just toss some electric parts into the soil? :-) :-) :-)

I'm glad nothing worse happened during the rain, especially tomatoes have a tendency to break in heavy rainfalls.

It's amazing how plants feel the difference between a rainfall and we watering them, they never grow as good when we water them than after a rainfall.

All my dogs have had stomach problems this summer, lots of rice has been cooked here and I guess it's just a matter of time until I have to start doing it again.

Have a great day!
Christer.
Sorry you had any rain damage, but you still look in good shape.

Oh that Salem Witch Day Lily! It's the only Lily, which I would love to have. Yummmmmmmmmmmmy...
