Dark Mother Bread for Mabon

I made a couple loaves of Dark Mother Bread for Mabon.  This is very good whole wheat bread and it smells wonderful when it is baking.
The Recipe:

2 C. water
1 T. rapid rise yeast
1/3 C. honey
3 C. whole wheat flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 C. oil
2 T. softened butter
4 C. all purpose flour

Mix the water with the yeast, honey, oil and butter.  Mix in the whole wheat flour and the salt.  Continue to need in the all purpose flour and knead until you have a nice smooth ball of dough.  Let it rise until it doubles then split it in two and place each one in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let them rise until they crest the pans.

Bake them at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes.  The internal temperature should be 190 degrees.  Cool on racks.

I have started the fire in the stove now but it's still to early to have it burning for so long that a bread needs. I'll try this if my memory works long enough :-)

Havbe a great day!
