Pear Fritters

I saw these over at bev's blog ( http://beehavenacres.blogspot.com/ ) the other day and knew my husband and The Blog Tech would love them. They are so easy to make too.
Mix 1-1/2 C. of self rising flour with 4 T. sugar.

Mix in 2 eggs and 1 C. of milk.

Slice a pear into 3 slices.  I made some with apples too.

I used about 1 cup of vegetable oil in a cast iron skillet.  Cook them until they turn golden.

Drain on paper towels and sprinkle them with cinnamon sugar.

Then sprinkle on some confectioners sugar too.

They ate them with maple syrup.

These look scrumptious. I LOVE pears better than apples.

I rarely deep fry anything, strange really since I usually love deep fried food. But I guess it could have to do with the image of burning oil and a tree cottage :-) :-) But to be honest, You didn't use much oil here so this I most likely will try :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

Ooooo, yummy. I just picked a bunch of pears from our tree in the back yard and as luck would have it, I found this amazing gluten free flour (we miss gluten!!!) that cooks up just like regular flour. Though not self rising, I'm hoping I can get it to work. I cannot wait to try these. Thank you sooo much! Happy Autumn, Bird
