Amish Country

We headed out to a Christmas Festival yesterday.  This one was way out in the country.

Though there was not much around, there are always lots of churches.

And farms.  After our storms the trees looked much more like Thanksgiving than Halloween.

An Amish corn crib. Click for a closer look.

 Hi there!

It was such a gorgeous drive.

 The long and winding road.

We were in beef country.  There were beef farms everywhere.

Saturday morning is a very active Amish time.  Buggy after buggy went by.

This guy was driving a convertible!  That's all for today as I am baking 300 stuffed cabbage rolls I made early this morning and now am about to make 100 cups of mashed potatoes.  Happy shelter guys at dinner time this evening!

Beautiful countryside!

It's the same here when it comes to churches, no matter where one look there's always a church nearby :-)

Yes those guys at the shelter will enjoy their dinner tonight :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

Those cabbage rolls, I know you will show a photo of those! I am going to have to make some as nobody fixes them around here.

seems very weird seeing all the cars on the wrong side of the road. Can really feel autumn has arrived for you. The Amish have always interested me.
Love Leanne

What a great post. Several years ago when I lived in Louisville and my sister lived in Cincinnati, we took a trip up to the Ohio Amish country. It was a fun few days and I have lots of happy memories.

Wishing all the good you have sown to return in sevens and tens.

I love the Amish buggies, and the Amish.

Great photos.
The buggies are cute but I'll take my little Toyota truck anytime. What beautiful country. How in the world do you find the time to do it all. You are a regular Energizer Bunny! Cabbage rolls! It sounds wonderful!
I am now ashamed when I whine about having to cook dinner for two!! LOL
Big hugs!

Thanks for allowing me to come along for the drive. I have been to "Amish Country" for years and years. Your photos are almost as good as returning!
