Fiberfest

Our last and best festival this past weekend was a fiber festival.   I wish so much that I was a better knitter because I am so drawn to all of this .
Alpaca socks for sale. Best socks ever!

 I was a bit overwhelmed.

There was so much to choose from.

There was wool in all shapes and forms.

 Swoon!

I would also love to learn how to spin.  I have a drop spindle but not a wheel.

The Blog Tech got a stern look from a spinner.

I didn't buy anything.  I couldn't justify purchasing more yarn when I already have so much at home.
Classes were offered throughout the day.

This little guy took a liking to The Blog Tech.

 He was for sale too.

 Alpacas!

A shearing demo was about to take place.

 Fleece for sale.

Most of the animal were for sale.

 Awww.....

This one was checking out my hand to see if I was safe.

The hay always tastes better on the other side of the fence.

 Hello there!

The event was on the small side but it was still very nice.

A domesticated animal watching from his personal domain.

Then we headed off to go home on the back roads.

Many people were selling BBQ from their driveways.

We saw some interesting houses along the way.

And an old log home.  We have already picked out another festival for next weekend!

WOW you two are really finding the festivals - and to leave without adding more to your stash now that is will power.

They didn't look like fiber goats but they were cute!

I do like those two houses, especially the green one.

Well I'm not that interested in yarn but I always like the results, especially if they keep me warm on nasty cold winter days :-)

I would love to have a few sheep if I only had the land for it. My neighbor kindly offered to have a few sheep in my garden when I complained aout lawn mowing :-) :-) :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

yes , you could use a few sheep or goats to mow that large lawn Joyce, only Teddy would likely object!!! Friends of our raise alpaca here, the wool is heavenly, very pricey here, VERY, I have knit socks and mittens from it and there really is nothing like it, the socks I have darned twice, it does wear well but they are 7 years old! This was a wonderful festival, Can't wait to seethe next one!

So many colors! Enough to drown in :) The painted lady is luscious as well.
I never learned to knit..but I used to crochet. I've always loved just the look of yarn and I think that was the main reason I wanted to learn. With seven little ones so close in age..I just didn't have a lot of time to sit and knit..even my crocheting was slower than I wanted. I did manage to make an afghan...once! :)
Just the scenery made the trip worth while. Did you stop for lunch at any of the roadside stands?
p.s ..so where are we going next time?? :)
